"check out all of the dust on this dome" It probably isn't dust. It's far more likely to be lots of tiny scratches from years of being ruffled around in the Lego box.

There are scratches, definitely, I got the set well-used. But there's a fair amount of dust on it too, I haven't cleaned that set off in a while.

I'm very happy with my Kahu, even if its scale is completely wrong for a Tohunga to look anything but incredibly goofy mounted on it.
