Changing the no. of laps in a race, possible yet?

I notice this has been asked a few years back https://rockraidersunited.com/topic/6478-change-the-amount-of-laps/ but apparently it wasn't possible. I first played LR1 as a kid back in those days and have always loved the idea of having more than 3 laps (because races end quite quickly). Has there been a hack uncovered yet to make this happen?

 

On a side note, I have never modded the game yet and want to start doing it for the first time. I discovered the Binary File Editor https://rockraidersunited.com/topic/4367-binary-file-editor/ but the download link is possibly out of date.

I'm not aware of any hacks that have been discovered to increase the number of laps unfortunately.  Maybe one will be found eventually (unless someone here knows of one and it hasn't been posted).

You'd be correct, the link was broken so I've just fixed the download for the latest version in that topic (download link here as well: https://www.rockraidersunited.com/files/dl-r447/).  Hopefully that helps get you started, and welcome to RRU.

Rather surprising, since I would've assumed it would just mean the change of a single digit in the game code. Hopefully one will be found.
