LEGO Island development files (June 1996) : Mindscape : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Hi everyone,

A while ago I found these ''Development files'' from Lego Island on The Wayback Machine. The files contain several 3D models, Word documents about the development and a whole 3D world of a very early version of Lego Island. I was wondering if all this was really used for the Lego Island development. It seems that the community does not know about these files. I couldn't find anything about these files on the Internet.

The files contain .3ds files this filetype was used for an application called Autodesk 3D Studio Dos. These types of files were used for 3D models. I couldn't open the files because I couldn't find an old version of Autodesk 3D Studio, but I'm pretty sure the files are 3D models of the Prison and a house since those are the names of the folders they're in .

There is also a 3D World with the .si filetype. these types of files were also used for the original Lego Island Game. .si files contain audio or 3D models. I was able to open the 3D world and this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5i9zLhewwI

If this was really used for the Lego Island Game I think the community should know about this. I'm also very curious about the 3D models that I couldn't open.

So does anyone know more about these ''Development files?
