Stuff Happens: My Grandma Passed Away...

Well guys, today... just sucked.

It started with me helping my friend move a clock to his grandparents house. It was nice cause I got to hang out with my best friend all day. We moved the clock, then we went and got Subway, and hung out for a while at his house.

Then I got a call from my dad...

My grandma had been taken to the hospital. She had dementia, and her son (my uncle) and his wife were changing her clothes, when they found out that she was bleeding. They tried to stop it, but couldn't, so they got her to the hospital.

I told my friend to take me back home, and I waited at home with my brother until we heard from my parents. So my bro and I played Halo Reach.

Then, about an hour ago, my parents came home. My dad came in, sat down, and said the words...

"She didn't make it."

She was my last grandparent.

So, we're having her buried next to my grandpa in Kentucky, as it should be.

I probably won't be on as much as normal for the next week or so. Yeah...

But as the title said, "Stuff Happens". We knew the day would come, as it will with us all sooner or later.

Anyway, thought I'd let you guys know.

I know how you feel... My grandpa died last Christmas, my other grandpa died when I was 3 or so and I never met one of my grandmas at all. It sucks.

Oh no.

I am so, so sorry. I remember when my first Grandmother died a few years ago. A standard day, nothing unusual. She had been doing down, and we knew that, but it was still a shock. She died exactly as she wanted too, peaceful, in her sleep. But it was still sad.

I only have one grandparent left, my other grandmother, and she too has dementia, second stage. She is still going strong, she knows who we all are, but the day she dies... I can't think of it.

My condolences go out to you and your family, and my God's perfect peace fall on you all. :)

I'm am really sorry.

If there is anything... and of course  there is nothing I can do.

They say time heals all wounds. Maybe, but some wounds leave scars.

Be strong, or don't. But be well.

b.t.w. my initials are DM, too

I must be lucky that I still have two grandmothers and my grandfather, the person I might love the most in my life. He has already told me a lot about North America and how his brothers both live there. He has a good mentality and he influenced me a lot (like my decision of migrating to Canada). I visit him (and my grandmother) very often and last night I watched slides with them from their various trips to Canada in the 1980s and 1990s.

I know that they won't be here forever so I try to visit them as much as I can. And sorry for your loss, I don't know how I would handle the loss of a family member.

Same thing happened to me... around 2009 I think when my Grandma died due to cancer. Seriously it was hard to try and spend the day not thinking about it. And if anyone asks me about it it'll take me an hour of remembering my grandma before going back to tears again.

To sum up what I said; I know how you feel, and it certainly will be a part of your mind and stick there for eternity.
