A "New Vision" for an old game
You know, ever since I got my new laptop, I've been playing ALL the games that my old one was unable to play. Deus Ex being one of them (Don't laugh, alright, my old laptop was a pile of fetid donkey manure) So I downloaded Deus Ex from the GoG yesterday, and I was hit by how...bad it looked. I'm not even sure it looked good when it first came out, running on a 2 year old engine. (The original Unreal Engine, if I recall)
Seriously, look at this.
So, as you can imagine, I went in search of a mod that would at least improve the textures, if nothing else. And boy, was I in for a surprise. Enter the "New Vision" mod, which I believe has been in development for over 5 years now. The final version was completed and Uploaded to ModDB on November 23rd, 2012. For best results, I'd reccomend having a GPU that supports AT LEAST DX10. I was a little disappointed that it didn't improve on the models at all. They're still as polygonal as we all know and love them.
So...the improved textures are AMAZING. Have some screenshots and some comparisons.

In all, I'm going to give this mod a 9/10. Held back only by the fact that it didn't update any of the models. Only textures.
Side Note: I shall be playing through the entire game with the mod. Gonna see just how much the textures are improved in areas other than New York and the Training Levels.
