MaelstromIslander's Reintroduction
(I was thinking about posting this on April 1st, 2015, the date I joined, but I decided I'd just do it now.)
So after much turmoil, stress and pain, I have hopes that I'll be able to find peace here again. Two years of flaming and suffering, I think things are looking up to me again.
I decided that, it would be best to reintroduce myself. My intro topic wasn't very informal in the first place anyway, so here I go...
Hi, I'm MaelstromIslander, also known as King Kahuka on Brickimedia and Wikia, Bazooka Hawkrider on Steam, TheEnderdragon59 on ROBLOX and simply Enderdragon59 on Minecraft. But you can just call me "Mael".
I coined the name MaelstromIslander as a failed attempt to fit into the community. Honestly, I don't really care about fitting into the community anymore, and I'm able to respect my own opinions now.
I'm a bit on the immature side, or I'm just stupid. Perhaps both, who knows.
As my name states, I am, or at least was, an Islanders fan. I'm a fan of LEGO Pirates as a whole now, including LEGO Space and LEGO Castle, as I grew up with those themes. I grew up with LEGO among other things, like most people would.
LEGO and... Video games. Yes, I played with toys more, but I still knew about Video Games. Believe it or not, I grew up with Plug'n'Play, oh yes the obscure Plug'n'Plays... Looking back, I assume it was a SEGA product, as all the games were by SEGA.
I didn't play games very much though, I mostly watched people play them. Especially Ecco the Dolphin, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Alex Kidd.
Those three were probably the hardest, for several reasons: Ecco is meant to be very hard on purpose, and Sonic 2 features the infamous pink lemonade of death. I can't remember why we couldn't beat Alex Kidd, I think it was these cars that would constantly run you over or something.
I've always had vague memories of getting past Chemical Plant Zone in Sonic 2; I remembered some sort of stormy dock, and a grassy, vast plain with ruins. After buying Sonic 2 on Xbox 360, I realized the dock was actually a mine, and the grassy plain was actually Aquatic Ruin Zone.
Anyway, before I go on to explain my entire experience with old Sonic games, I'll explain the real stuff:
The first ever LEGO game I knew of was LEGO Racers, and man did Basil scare me. I witnessed my father play through the game, sadly he was unable to get past Rocket Racer (Or gypsy, I can't remember) so that was a bit of a pain.
Quite a few years later, we bought LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. I was fascinated with it, and me and my brothers played at all the time. Of course, we were able to beat it, get most of the minikits, but we weren't able to beat the Time Attack thing. I don't really have the sour feelings most of you guys have over the TT Games, as I grew up with them, and it proved to be quite the challenge for me.
After that, we attempted to collect all the TT Games. One of the things I found really annoying was that in LEGO Indiana Jones the game would freeze a lot with a "BEEEEEEEEEP", due to overheating. One of the things I found really fun however, was that in LEGO Batman, you could constantly clone Robin and Nightwing indeffinetely!
I then fell for the MMORPGs. I played Runescape sometimes, but what really caught all of our attention was Wizard101. Sadly, I fell victim to the community, who turned me into a blundering bafoon who said "wt" instead of "what". Only now I realized that the community was actually ROBLOX Online Daters who migrated to Wizard101 because they were pushed out by ROBLOX's community.
Wizard101 was the start of me getting into the Internet. I eventually discovered Brickipedia, the LEGO Enyclopedia. After a long while of lurking all over the wiki for the LEGO Racers characters, I decided to join the wiki.
I was playing Minecraft simultaneously at this time, so the idiotic community of THAT place poisoned me, turning me into a terrible person who would curse and swear at anyone who disagreed with me. When I fell for the fan-made "Blacktron III" and everyone on Brickimedia told me it wasn't real, I reacted the same way I did on Minecraft.
I was able to clear everything up even though I got a warning on my first day. Several blocks, warnings, chat kicks, chat blocks... I was a bully. Most of you would say I still am a bully, but I'm not as bad as I used to be, trust me.
At my side was DarthShlomo, my best friend on Brickipedia, and his brother JahChildren. Although they were more positive, happy, cheerful, and nice, I was cold, violent, and a huge jerk. Against me, was The Rainbow Dasher; She's basically The Ace Railgun but instead of anime being her fandom, she was a brony.
I constantly boycotted her love for MLP, and I hated on anyone who like anime. I was constantly being kicked by her, but at times it was for stupid reasons. Y'know how Someswedish likes to go around saying he's a dragon, and how I like to go around saying I'm a stromling?
Well, she had a problem with that. I used to go around saying I was a Blacktronian Commander, but apparently roleplay was... Against the rules? I have no idea, she made no sense, she was a terrible chat moderator, and she was a hypocrite. She kept saying she was a pony and SOMEHOW that was okay for her, because, y'know, she's a chatmod.
Apart from her, the other staff were constantly trying to get me to mature and fix my behavior. Trust me, even though I spammed tons of "I'm Sorry" posts and turned around and screwed up again, I was maturing, even though it was a slow process.
Eventually, The Rainbow Dasher warned me that one more slip-up and she'd block me forever. Unluckily for her, I was introduced to Brickimedia. ToaMeiko told me that we were moving to a new site because of Wikia's annoying advertisements and some other things among that.
We were preparing to fork, but sadly most of my closest friends wanted to stay behind. Not Jah or Shlomo, but just some other friends. I was dissapointed that they stayed behind, but I forked over to Brickimedia anyway.
Oh yeah, by the way... I was a slacker on Brickipedia. I didn't edit unless I absolutely had to, and sometimes I'd post fanfic into some character's pages, including Basil. Thankfully they reverted it. I also didn't know what plaguerism was, so I constantly posted artwork and MOCs that weren't mine on my userpage.
Anyway, by the time I reached brickimedia, I matured to what I am today. We'd chat, but unlike RRU, they'd just post nonsense, and were pretty much a less-mature Rock Raiders United. I wasn't very happy there, so I decided to look for a new place to go.
Then, I remembered (or jamesster just sent it to me, I can't remember) that Jamesster sent me a message about a mod for LEGO Racers that adds in classic LEGO Space astronauts, and yes, I'm talking about the mod RobExplorien made. I then discovered Rock Raiders United, and learned a bit more about LEGO Island (I had no clue what it was at the time, and dismissed it as stupid back on Brickipedia) and I learned how cool it was, including the other games.
Eventually, after several weeks (or months) of lurking, I decided to do what I did on Brickipedia, and join. On that day, April 1st 2014, I did something similar to what I did on Brickipedia: Yeah, thats right, I screwed up.
It wasn't that bad as they exaggerated it to be though. I couldn't find any sort of "you must have XXX posts to join" in the OP, so I was surprised to see everyone stacking up and beating up on me. I still have a problem with how toxic this community is, and when you single out members for one screw up, it really disturbs me. I'm sure it was probably in the link, but I didn't want to click a link to another site, so its not completely my fault. Saying "I hope you can read because you sure didn't read the MC Server rules" does not make me look at this community in a positive light.
Xiron was technically my first friend, as he cleared up the whole minecraft server situation.
Anyway, here I am now. I play several video games, some infected with CoD kids, some with fanbases that are like CoD kids that are possibly worse, and some that were cool when they started but now they've grown into this massive insanity full of OCs, bad fanfics, shipping, and spikey furball eternal doom that I try to forget even existed, so I play the older games.
Oh yeah and I'll play ROBLOX sometimes, but being, y'know, full of idiots, its hard to enjoy it.
So... Yeah, thats really all I have to say here. Hi.
