LEGO Digital Designer - (Hopefully Not) The Unfortunate Future Of LEGO

I was building an architectural model of a random skyscraper when the program lagged out. So I saved the file and restarted LDD. The file wouldn't load and the program started lagging again. Keep in mind that I'm using a computer that is known to be able to run Crysis 2, so it's not my specs. TLG had enough time to fix the bugs.

I hereby declare LEGO Digital Designer Failware.

The reason we still use it is because there's no alternative. It's either this or not using it at all.

How to combat this software? Don't use it. simple as that.

Failrating: 3/5. An absolute piece of trash, but at least it's not essential.

EDIT: Turns out my Source Dedicated Server was interfering with LDD. Ignore this entry.

crysis sucks lol

Never played it, but Crysis 2 is way ahead of its time graphics-wise (3DMark 2006 scores must be in the 50,000s or higher to run it on low quality).

I will likely write a follow up, since the problem seems to have stopped after activating extended mode.

If this is your defenition of crapware...

...then most software is crapware.

Good hardware doesn't guarantee everything runs flawlessly.

That's understandable, but this was an unusual amount of lag (it made the software unusable). The problem subsided when I enabled extended mode.

Oh and my 3Dmark 2006 Score is 8869 and I can run Crysis 2 on low settings.

Firstly, Crysis is one of the best games out there if your are looking for good gameplay and graphics. Especially graphics.

Secondly, LDD works perfectly, even with millions of bricks on my machine, and mine has MUCH lower specs than yours. Maybe you need to check that you have it configured properly?
