My Ideas For An Overhaul Mod: Fronteer Miners

Alright, I don't have LRR installed on this computer yet, but once I do I will attempt an overhaul mod.

Fronteer Miners

Storyline: A group of miners from a frontier colony have discovered a new resource, Ununoctite, in a nearby system. This crystalline compound contains a stable isotope of the heavy element Ununoctium (No. 118, atomic weight 294 in most common isotope), Ununoctium297, which in theory bonds with silver to create the metallic compound required to manufacture the extreme-efficiency power couplers required for a new and improved keyhole drive, as well as provide a new energy source. You must assist in the construction of a new HQ on the planet and acquire enough Ununoctite crystals to begin research. Be careful, as there are also unusual life forms on the planet that feed on these crystals.

Raider Classes: Just your usual fair, with an additional level that will increase the raiders' stats. Unfortunately an additional tool is impossible to implement. Cannot feed without a Snax-U-Like dispensing unit.

Vehicle changes:

Hover Scout: Can cross water and lava.

Small Digger: Decreased drill times.

Small Transport Truck: Can carry five objects, ten with upgrade.

Rapid Rider: Can carry five objects.

SMLC: Pwns Slugs and Ice Monsters, does decent damage against Rock Monsters and low damage against Lava Monsters.

Tunnel Scout: Twice as fast, but costs five Ununoctite crystals (the energy crystal of the mod).

Loader Dozer: Can't take a cargo hold upgrade.

Granite Grinder: Decreased drill times.

LMLC: One-hits anything but lava monsters, which take 99 damage on hit.

Cargo Carrier: Disabled - Redundant.

Chrome Crusher: Costs more. Laser is as SMLC but is faster when used to drill.

Tunnel Transport: Enabled. Can transport large vehicles (hopefully).

New Vehicles:

Rations Truck (Small): Snax-U-Like dispenser. Costs 2 Ununoctite crystals.

Mobile Command Base (Large): Acts as Teleport Pad and a Snax-U-Like dispenser. Can Drill through all drillable walls instantly. Has a laser that can one-hit anything, including walls. Can carry 10 objects, 20 with upgrade. Costs 30 Ununoctite crystals.

New Buildings (hopefully):

Air Scrubber Station: Support Station without Snax-U-Like or increased population capacity. Costs 10 ore and one Ununoctium Crystal. Requires a Power Station, Lv. 1 Teleport Pad, and Lv.1 Tool Store.

New Maps: TBD

New Monsters:

Giant Slug: Big version of a Slimy Slug. Only found in undiscovered caverns and does not respawn. Scares Raiders. Does not attack raiders. Does not attack base. Consumes Ununoctium crystals on the ground, including ones dropped by scared raiders. Not effected by anything but an Electric Fence or a LMLC/Mining Laser, which one hits it.

TF2 Scout* (a humor addition in a bonus sandbox level, only uses a baseball bat): Runs fast. Attacks buildings but doesn't consume Ununoctium crystals. Ignores raiders. Not effected by anything. Snax-U-Like dispenser.

*Due to VALVe's tolerance of the use of TF2 content for almost anything, I would assume the inclusion of the Scout would be allowed.

I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT!

I'd be careful with having vehicles carry more than six materials at a time. Whenever I try more than that the game crashes when the vehicle tries to pick up materials. Also, the Rapid Rider can't pick up more than one object because materials never spawn on water unless you destroy a water vehicle.

I was planning on being able to load a rapid rider by having the driver enter the vehicle with a material and disembark to pick up more.

As for the materials limit, I'm crossing my fingers that it's just a fluke with the variables.
