Metal Drift - A Review
I've been playing Metal Drift recently, and I have to say it is the must have game of today.
Alright. The game is a hybrid Sci-Fi Sports/Racing/FPS game where you are essentially playing Soccer with hover tanks. In order for your team to win they must score more goals than the opponent.
The game has decent graphics quality, on par with the XBOX 360, though a little shiny for the quality level like Trackmania Original/Sunrise/Nations/United. Energy effects are TF2 Cow Mangler level and the textures look smooth and high definition. Lighting could use a little work, however.
The game is a bit repetitive, but what would you expect for a game designed with competitive, rather than casual, play in mind?
The controls are a bit hard to get used to (the tank feels like a certain hovertank form a certain Microsoft-made FPS).
Overall, however, for the market the game was made for it really fills a gap that was missing in the modern video gaming industry.
I give Metal Drift a 9/10 for most people, but a 5/10 for "typical" gamers as it lacks a storyline.
