LEGO Racers 1999 Box and Manual Scans

As a departure from my recent posts about the early morning movies and EULAs, I'd thought I'd show off some stuff that actually relates to LEGO.

LEGO Racers, to be more precise.

Since I received my 1999 release of LEGO Racers in the mail in May 2012 (I'm sure you remember that ordeal), I have been trying to scan the inserts, box, manuals, and the jewel-case. I scanned them once with our Kodak MFP, but I redid did them with our flatbed scanner two months ago. I have finally gotten around to uploading the rest of the scans, so I'm writing a blog post about them.

The scans on my Brickshelf account, and I've got the PDF manuals on my Wordpress blog. You will fids artifacts in the game manual, only because the original version is 30MB, and I can't really upload that thing very well. If I have to, I’ll upload it and update this post.

Enjoy.

System requirements...

Wow. I never realized that they were so low. Then again, considering that this was just below the norm in 1999, my old craptop would be considered a gaming computer!

The very thought makes me LOL.

But, anyway, this is great. All of those inserts, were they all little papers, or were they in a booklet or something?

Hello memory lane! I remember seeing all of those things before . . . except that Friends video game insert. So Friends has been a LEGO isdea for a while then.

They were all little sheets of paper of different sizes and paper type (the registration one is kinda like construction paper). Stuff that relate to each other were on the same sheet, though. The LEGO games ad was a big book, the $5 coupon was one sheet that was printed on both sides, etc. I've got a video showing off the unboxing, and you can see these flyers.

Oh, yea. Friends has been churning in the mind of LEGO for a long time. I've linked my video of me playing the LEGO Friends demo on the LEGO Friends topic. ;)
