You really need to check your spelling. Oh, and remember this conversation? Is he a Rock Raider? Fact sphere: Fact: Thats a builder. Not a Rock raider. I'm assuming you where joking, as That's was misspelled. But then again... Not to mention your own jokes... That was terrible. Looks like I was right about you flipping off the forum again. You listed a bunch of minifigure accessories. What do those have to do with the vehicles being discussed? And again, you're spewing complete nonsense about "fake" Rock Monsters and a vehicle that supposedly "dosn't have anything to do with mining" (*doesn't), all while completely ignoring the hard work PeabodySam put into this model, the creativity behind it, and everything else good about it. You have provided absolutely no useful feedback of any kind, and yet again, only aggravated the community even more with your cruddy posts. You can't stand people giving you helpful and accurate feedback on your creations, yet you have the audacity to blindly bash somebody else's hard work with completely nonsensical points, then make even more nonsensical arguments when the lack of logic in your posting is pointed out? No. Just no. Good day sir.3 points -

Off Topic.: Does anyone else find the minifig models in LR2 inaccurate? Too short/fat? On Topic: I hate to add to all of this, but really. Try this: before you post something, read over it two or three times. Think to yourself, "how will other people take this?" You seem like an intelligent person, but you get angry too easily at things too trivial. Your model was a good start, however, it obviously needs some fixing. Instead of disregarding the advice Jamesster so kindly gave to you, why don't you follow it and see what happens? Besides, if you don't want advice, why do you keep posting your (still formulating) ideas over and over and over again we can't take it anymore GAAAGGHGHGHGHGHG *ahem*... sorry about that.3 points -

I'll think you'll find he actually is making a typo, and meant to say "Hello". Otherwise, if he was saying "Hell", that would constitute as flaming, and I would have to report him for that. And if I reported him, he would get another strike to his possibly numerous strike list. And if gets enough strikes, he's outta here! So, he said "Hello to you, sir." Unless he'd like to continue this pitiful little argument? And frankly, I'm not shooting it down. Please look at his work in the "The Unexpected Agent" topic. My critic is as valid as it'll ever be. EDIT: I was out of line to say the last thing, but the top part remains valid, and I still hold the opinion that he has no right to discount jamesster's critic when he is relatively out of his depth.3 points -

Calcite Copter VS Cybernetic Rock Monster
aidenpons and one other reacted to PeabodySam for a topic
Hence why I specified the PC game. Although... to be fair, I thought about what Ben24x7 said, and I have come the conclusion that he's right. The Calcite Copter is simply not a Rock Raiders vehicle. Despite the existence of the Hover Scout, Rapid Rider, Helicopter Transport, Tunnel Transport, Small Transport Truck, Cargo Carrier, and many other Rock Raiders vehicles, the Calcite Copter is severely inhibited by its lack of necessary Rock Raider tools such as drills, shovels, pickaxes, and chainsaws. Therefore, I have decided to take Ben24x7's ever-so-constructive criticism to heart and modified the Calcite Copter. Now... it is a true Rock Raiders vehicle. Although, if you ask me, it still needs more drills.2 points -

Question mark cards can be found anywhere. Star cards will only appear in 3 places in the game. #1: Bologna will dig this one up for you. See jamesster's video for how to get it. #2: In the chest in the forest of castle island. Take the North path in the guantlet of guards. #3: Hidden under a floating brick in the ogel island maze. The only problem with star cards is that 90% of the time they're Achu. For cards that take so much more time to get, you'd expect LESS repeats, but no.2 points -

Believe me, sir, I have modeled and re-modeled many LEGO minifigures with precision down to a hundredth of a millimeter. I'm not just sure how they look, but the shape of every piece has become lodged inside my mind. (from here: http://jaysbrickblog.wordpress.com/2012/05/15/lego-minifigures-series-7-review-part-1/) Way off. ... was I seriously just compared to Gordon Ramsey? Edit: Just to show you what horrors might be created simply due to a lack of proper reference material... My first ever minifigure model, from 2009. Don't let this happen to you. D82 points -

Jamesster is one of the most respected members on this site. His knowledge of LEGO is rivaled only by Alcom's building ability. His list of achievements could possibly fill 2 books and a small pamphlet, and he's only getting started. You have "drawn minifigures". How cute. I'm sure those pictures would like nice on your mother's fridge. If Jamesster says they're something wrong with your minifigure model, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR MINIFIGURE MODEL, SO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE MAN HAS TO SAY. If Gordan Ramsey was going to teach you how to cook, would you say, "No thanks, I've read about the meal in a cook-book"?2 points -

Board Game.
STUDZ reacted to Edrjune1 for a topic
Okay, so I am trying to find a way that all of my friends can participate in the fun involved with the rock raiders sets. I have let them play the game and they are intrigued by the story line, but I want a reason to have out my sets. My neighbor and I are working on the concept of a board game, but I thought I ought to put a post up here. Right now, here is what I have (also, you can consult my gallery for reference. This is everything that is currently constructed at the moment. Hoverscout x 2+ Small Digger x 5 Small Transport Truck x 3+ Rapid Rider x 2+ SMLC Tunnel Scout x 3+ Chrome Crusher LMLC Granite Grinder x 2 Tunnel Transport x 2 Loader Dozer Cargo Carrier Electric Fence x 5+ Geological Center Mining Laser Power Station Ore Refinery Teleport Pad Super Teleport Support Station Tool Store Docks Upgrade Station Energy Chrystals x 300 Ore x 65 Each Character at least 7 times (incl chief) Rock Monster x 4 + indicates that more could be built I have a grocery bag full of misc parts So, after all of that...the Idea is to have the rules conform somewhat to the pc game. One concept is that there will be some sort of "dungeon Master" that will determine the placement of rock monster/ore/EC...etc. The Idea being that I don't have the resources have each character build their own HQ. Another Idea is to play it like monopoly and that each player would have to pay the "owner" to use the building. I have a few other Ideas, but I want feedback from basically a blank slate. Thanks in advance for all your help RRU.1 point -

Calcite Copter VS Cybernetic Rock Monster
Lair reacted to PeabodySam for a topic
jamesster has already said much more than he ever needed to say to defend the Calcite Copter. And I must say, thank you for that. But you know, while I'm here, I might as well also point out that the Calcite Copter is basically a flying Mobile Laser Cutter. Take a look at the Small and Large Mobile Laser Cutters, both of which are official Rock Raiders vehicles that are centered around mining. They don't have any minifigure accessories like pickaxes and shovels slapped on them just to shoehorn them into the Rock Raiders franchise. They're just vehicles with mounted mining lasers. And that definition is literally exactly what the Calcite Copter is: a vehicle with a mounted mining laser. Add in the Tunnel Scout's ability to fly, and you have a Rock Raiders vehicle that has all the mining capabilities of the Mobile Laser Cutters but is far more versatile in traveling through caverns; no longer restricted to cavern floor, but now able to fly over lava, water, and even crevices. Why wouldn't the Rock Raiders want a vehicle like this? Ignoring the fact that the Mobile Laser Cutters are completely useless in the PC game...1 point -
Calcite Copter VS Cybernetic Rock Monster
Lair reacted to lol username for a topic
Yes they do. And I ask again, what do they have to do with the vehicles we are talking about? Your original post here specifically discussed the vehicle PeabodySam constructed, which you claimed had nothing to do with mining and therefore did not belong in the Rock Raiders theme (seeing as the first post in this topic gives it a detailed breakdown of how it mines with its laser, that's also complete nonsense - did you even read the topic before replying?): I posted official Rock Raiders vehicles that, unlike PeabodySam's custom vehicle, don't even have any mining-specific abilities (the hover scout just flies around, the rapid rider is basically just a cargo catamaran, and the two promotional sets are more variants on hover vehicles)... And now you're completely ignoring the vehicles and trying to talk about minifigure accessories? Sir, you are making absolutely no sense. Yet again, you've completely ignored everything said in reply to you and only spewed the exact same irrelevant nonsense from your previous post. This is getting quite ridiculous. Do you not have anything useful to say here? Edit: Oh, silly me, I forgot the Tunnel Transport and the other hover vehicle included in the same set! They're just flying vehicles (the Tunnel Transport can carry vehicles and such, the other is just a small one-man craft), both without any mining-specific functions, so shouldn't you be directing your disgust to things like them instead of PeabodySam's vehicle, which actually does have the ability to cut through rock and such? Why would it even be a problem in the first place?1 point -

Bartemis, don't let the naysayers discourage you. Programming is a journey like anything else and I imagine you're at the beginning of yours. It's only natural that things will improve with time. Don't feel pressured to release anything if you don't want to. Unless you have an intended audience, your only goal is to please yourself. Take your time and have fun. GameMaker is just fine if that's what you want to use. Nothing at all wrong with it. That said, what Cyrem points out is also true. If you are injecting something into a public forum, you need to be able to deal with and take criticism, hopefully most of it being constructive. That's the only way anyone improves; critics may even point out things you never thought about or never saw.1 point -

If we all sat around saying "great" this game would never reach it's potential. Criticism on your game will give you things to work on and improve. If you don't want to do that you might as well leave the creative industry altogether, you will always receive criticism from the public. Instead of going "oh criticism, I'm leaving" you should be thanking McJobless for not only playing your game... but clearly telling you what needs to be worked on. Aside from what McJobless said, I can't see any other negative comments on your game.1 point -

Hello. I'm TheDoctor. Two words. Production value. Don't release a broken game. Don't release the result of you slapping your hands on the keyboard when Game Maker happens to be open. Release something that has some effort put into it. Don't waste your own time creating something that's not going to amount to little more than a poorly made fan game. The only people who play those are people who like to find awful games, break them, lambaste them, cry a little bit, then post the result to youtube. If you make something worth the time you put into it, and worth the time of those playing it, then you can release it. If not, either improve your game creation skills or perhaps find a different hobby. Perhaps modding LRR is more to your abilities if game creation is not.1 point -

You are literally about the 15th person to say they will be making their own LegoRR game. You have NOTHING except ideas. Do you have any experience in making games at all? How will you get around LEGO's licensing rules? Do you have a timeframe? How many people are working on the project aside from yourself? Please don't create an ideas thread without evidence that you've actually been working on the project. Eventually I, and everybody else, just get tired of it. Changing the speed of the turbo
Jack Bluebeard reacted to RobExplorien for a topic
Indeed noticeable. The AI behaviour in this game has become my expertise over the years I've been playing this game. I've been trying to adapt myself to the AI as well, and there isn't just a small difference between the AI turbo and player's turbo. There are many (small) differences, and I'm not going to list them all now. I've done two videos on this turbo behaviour, and one of them includes what you mentioned about the acceleration at the start. As for the 'turbo physics' of an AI, I don't think this would be easy to copy to the playe'r controlled car. Let alone it being possible (at the moment).1 point -

È conosciuto che il turbo dei oppositori è più veloce che quello dei giocatori. Purtroppo non si può accelerare così veloce come gli oppositori. (greetings from germany, italy in school ) and here the english version for the others: It is common that the turbo of the opponents is faster than the one of the players. Unfortunately you can't accelerate as fast as the AI. and of course my first language: Es ist bekannt, dass der Turbo der Gegner schneller als derjenige der Spieler ist. Leider kann man nicht so schnell beschleunigen wie die Gegner.1 point -

How to build pharaohs mummy car
Jack Bluebeard reacted to RobExplorien for a topic
Don't we all like to build the AI cars... Sadly, their chassis is somewhat different to the one available in the building menu. Plus, they often have a special part (like the brick with the logo on the rear of their car) on their car that isn't listed in the building menu as well. So you could build a replica of Pharaoh's Mummy's car, but not exact. However, there has been done some research in switching car models, so that you could use an AI car. I believe that this is the thread in which it was discussed. Though it isn't completely worked out, it's something.1 point -
