Rock raiders game idea
The Ace Railgun and 2 others reacted to Cyrem for a topic
Well, this topic is a mess. There is hardly ever highly offensive posts being made on RRU. Always, I repeat, ALWAYS assume it was a joke if you are unsure. Text does not convey emotion. Remeber back when McJobless said: He was indirectly helping you to get out of a possible warning for flaming. "Covering your back" as it were. Unfortunately you took that the wrong way and confirmed in nice big writing that you really were trying to flame him. This is not how forums work. Members cannot control when people can and cannot post. Moderators control how far they topics stray from it's purpose, you have no need to worry about this.3 points -

Lego Time Cruisers comics
STUDZ and one other reacted to Cyrem for a topic
Translation of the comic is still on-topic. While Google Translate isn't perfect, it gets it right some of the time. Additionally, different cultures have different tolerances of words. So a word you might think is bad, might not be viewed that way somewhere else. Due to the way language works, you can't get 1:1 word translation. PeaBodySam wasn't trying to translate it, he was captioning that picture for a joke to... you know... make people laugh.2 points -

Sonic Blaster Crash Fix
Mr. Skeltal reacted to Oboe Shoes for a topic
Ladies and gentlemen, I've finally been able to rid Rock Raiders of one of the last big problems that's been plaguing it. As most of you know, the Sonic Blaster has a tendency to crash the game when running on newer versions of Windows. After numerous failed attempts to edit the original files to remove the problem, I've gotten it to work by recoding most of it from the ground up, using the dynamite assets as a base. (Don't worry, I've made sure that it's visually and functionally identical to the default Sonic Blaster) Anyway, with this, you should now be able to enjoy the ability to scare away slugs and monsters as originally intended. Maybe now we'll be able to do Back to Basics without toggling the power, eh? Download here.1 point -
New Skyboxes
Rock Monster reacted to Creator for a topic
I'm not sure if this belongs here, since Skyboxes are gradients, rather than textures, but they change in-game visuals, so it's sort of fitting, I suppose. Anyway, I created some personal in-game backgrounds (skyboxes), based on the backgrounds from box deisgns and catalogues. Since LR1 skyboxes are defined by a mere three colours, the possibilities are sort of limited, but I chose to share this anyway... Rock Raiders: Invasion
Cyrem reacted to Pranciblad for a topic
Link to this file: (file removed) This story is officially dead. Don't expect any more. Planet U: One of the unique planets known to be a “vessel planetâ€: these planets' surfaces are barren, and life gets more and more plentiful as you reach the hollow core. Their unusual shape, combined with their mysterious abundance of energy crystals makes them an amazing subject for research. While little is still known of these vessel planets, there is a team known as the Rock Raiders who dedicate themselves to exploring these strange worlds. Their last visit to Planet U left them stranded- witness to a civilization in ruin, where the remaining clans fighting over the crystal caches of the world: the very key to their survival- and the Raiders’. Although they managed to escape the planet, it wasn’t long before a return voyage was planned. However, Planet U has seen a lot of changes recently. After the Rock Raiders team discovered it as a rich source for energy crystals, word managed to spread quickly, and as they prepared for their return trip they were to be followed by many other teams just waiting to get their hands on the planet’s crystal bounty. And while the Raiders now have to face massive amounts of competition, no situation could be as horrible as that faced by the planet's natives, with what caches they could rummage together after the last invasion being hunted by new groups of explorers. Luckily for them, they’ll soon be given the chance to fight back… Author's comments are in red.1 point -

Calcite Copter VS Cybernetic Rock Monster
aidenpons reacted to PeabodySam for a topic
Hence why I specified the PC game. Although... to be fair, I thought about what Ben24x7 said, and I have come the conclusion that he's right. The Calcite Copter is simply not a Rock Raiders vehicle. Despite the existence of the Hover Scout, Rapid Rider, Helicopter Transport, Tunnel Transport, Small Transport Truck, Cargo Carrier, and many other Rock Raiders vehicles, the Calcite Copter is severely inhibited by its lack of necessary Rock Raider tools such as drills, shovels, pickaxes, and chainsaws. Therefore, I have decided to take Ben24x7's ever-so-constructive criticism to heart and modified the Calcite Copter. Now... it is a true Rock Raiders vehicle. Although, if you ask me, it still needs more drills.1 point -

Yes they do. And I ask again, what do they have to do with the vehicles we are talking about? Your original post here specifically discussed the vehicle PeabodySam constructed, which you claimed had nothing to do with mining and therefore did not belong in the Rock Raiders theme (seeing as the first post in this topic gives it a detailed breakdown of how it mines with its laser, that's also complete nonsense - did you even read the topic before replying?): I posted official Rock Raiders vehicles that, unlike PeabodySam's custom vehicle, don't even have any mining-specific abilities (the hover scout just flies around, the rapid rider is basically just a cargo catamaran, and the two promotional sets are more variants on hover vehicles)... And now you're completely ignoring the vehicles and trying to talk about minifigure accessories? Sir, you are making absolutely no sense. Yet again, you've completely ignored everything said in reply to you and only spewed the exact same irrelevant nonsense from your previous post. This is getting quite ridiculous. Do you not have anything useful to say here? Edit: Oh, silly me, I forgot the Tunnel Transport and the other hover vehicle included in the same set! They're just flying vehicles (the Tunnel Transport can carry vehicles and such, the other is just a small one-man craft), both without any mining-specific functions, so shouldn't you be directing your disgust to things like them instead of PeabodySam's vehicle, which actually does have the ability to cut through rock and such? Why would it even be a problem in the first place?1 point -

Slimy Slug Hole Grinder
aidenpons reacted to JayWilliams for a topic
I was trying to think of a vehicle that would solve a problem you face in the game. And since the worst enemy in the game is the never-ending barrage of Slimy Slugs, I figured, why not build a vehicle that would solve this problem, once and for all! Basically, you'd drive the Slimy Slug Hole Grinder over a hole, lower the auger, and let it totally destroy the slimy slug hole, rendering it a pile of rubble, which you can then shovel clean if you wish. While designing this, I tried to keep with the Rock Raider color theme and design as much as I could. And best of all, you can actually raise and lower the auger with the rope/gear system on top. Any feedback appreciated! Special thanks: to my brother for his advice and help. Slimy Slug Hole Grinder1 point -
In-game Coordinate viewer
Yajmo reacted to grappigegovert for a topic
LR Coordinate Viewer I'd like to show you the coordinate viewer I made. It shows you your coordinates when in a race. This may be useful with editing tracks (startpos/object locations) I don't know how to display this in full-screen mode, so you'll have to play in windowed mode for this to work. Screenshot: Download link: https://www.rockraidersunited.com/files/dl-r17/ Note: Does not yet work with the 1999 DRM version. If anyone could send me the correct memory addresses or an image file of the CD, I can update it. UPDATE: New since V2.1: - Force the use of dots as decimal points so you can paste them directly into a binary file. New since v2: - Rotation - Highlightable values for easy copy/paste - One exe for both versions - Option to change pointer if all values show '0' O.T. Also, Hi, I'm new here. I have been following this forum for a while now, but I don't post often on forums.1 point -
