    My Life As A Composer

Dear All, Some of you may know that I like music a lot, And that I have actually composed my own music. I have posted a few of my works on Skype and have gotten good feedback, so I am posting my works here for all of RRU to hear. Feel free to comment, criticize, suggest changes, or request anything. I have been composing since Freshman Year 5 years ago. I have played the Alto Saxophone in band for 6 years, and I also play the piano. I have loved the piano ever since I was young. My first keyboard had 32 keys but it was very small. Next I moved up to a 37 key keyboard which was bigger, but I quickly grew too old for it. My current keyboard has 61 full size keys. My choices of music are Soundtracks (video game and movie), New Age (relaxing instrumentals and ambience), Inspirational/Motivational, Classic Rock, and Today's Music. I can play music well by ear, and I have also written piano sheet music. I will update as I compose new works, or dig up some of my old ones. My first work is called "Rise", which some of you have heard on Skype: Rise.mid You need a MIDI Player to listen to it. I use Synthesia. It is free and works well. Other choices are also available. Synthesia Link: http://www.synthesiagame.com/ So have a listen, and see what you think! Notice: I take all of my work seriously. This music is not to be reproduced in any way, unless given permission by me. DM

    Taste of Music

Todays topic, music... Music is like... like... how do I start? It is like a book, it can be good, exciting and joyful at some points but then there are the bad parts of the song. It might be fast, slow or just right. Every one has a different taste. Say someone liked Orchestra (such as me) and someone else likes rock, someone likes techy noises in music, etc... Music allows the feel of happiness, sadness, all different emotions to come to the mind. It doesn't even matter if the music is a new release or one before the 21st century. Even music in games (such as the ones in Rock raiders for example) sound good. There is one problem, when we want to create a piece of music we get stumped at how the song should sound, how fast the tempo should be, etc. And yes, I got this feeling when I tried to create some soundtrack for The Unexpected agent PROJECT. What better way to start creating music than cheating? That is exactly what I did for my soundtrack piece 'Welcome to the CITY'. One thing I suggest when you cheat is not to remix someone else's track, you would probably start to steal songtracks and mix them up rather than create your own. I cheated by having the IPad play for me while I recorded the sounds that came from it. The result was brilliant but I am unable to upload the song onto here but it is quite an upbeat, joyful song. It doesn't take a while to create some music, all you need is some decent music software (such as Garageband) and a range of instruments either on the computer/tablet or real physical ones. After a while of recording you are done, just export it and you can show the entire world what you have made. Sometimes the music you like is the one you made, when I made 'Welcome to the CITY' I couldn't help listening to it multiple times since I liked it so much. I have the file attached to this blog. It is the song 'Welcome to the CITY' (The one I cheated on). You can enjoy it if you want. This may not have been a detailed or good blog but I thought I might have a say on a subject I have never spoken about anywhere else on the internet.
