Time Raiders
Jimbob and 6 others reacted to Cirevam for a topic
I finished the main model and got it in-game. I will have to redo the animations to match the new engines since I added one, but that's okay since the weapon has to mount on the vehicle that the Command Ship is mounted on. Remember? It's a painful combination of buildings and vehicles so you can have a mobile tool store. I'm still thinking of weapon ideas, but I don't think it can be more than four plates thick, and it has to be able to pivot down so I'll have to use some sort of hinge. It's on the wiki too. I almost forgot, next on the list is Jacred's command ship, then Glaven's. I'm on a quest to dejuniorize Time Raiders (or at least the present-day stuff).7 points -

Project Terranova: MOC WIP
PeabodySam reacted to RRChief for a topic
Hey guys, I'm here to present my newest MOC, it's still a WIP as I wanted to ask you all for your views and recommendations before I begin work on the real thing. Basically, Project Terranova is meant to be the Rock Raiders' main HQ building from which they co-ordinate all their mining operations from. The building consists of five main parts, the four outer squares and the big rectangle base. Two of the outer squares each house a Guardian-class defense tower from my Guardian Outpost MOC (consisting of a laser cannon and sonic emitter dish) for base protection. The other two outer squares each house a power pylon unit to supply power to the base. The main part of the building is where all operations and communications are handled. The building will be built on the 32 x 48 RR HQ baseplate. Some parts are missing (e.g. the laser cannon) as LDD does not have them. What I'm worried about is that it might look a bit too similar to my Guardian Outpost MOC, making it lose a bit of its uniqueness. Also, I don't really know what else to add to the building to give it more interactive features. I wanted to add a control tower to the top of it, but now I'm thinking of building something like a huge laser cannon instead. Could you guys give me your views on it? Does the appearance look okay? And what would you recommend I change/remove or features that I should add to it? Thanks!1 point -

Wait, is the whole thing MOBILE? I mean, that would be good in open spaces and large caverns and stuff, but in most caves? Wouldn't really work. Regardless, great looking so far!1 point -

I did have a 100% backup somewhere because the save kept randomly deleting itself (or somethin), but THAT backup file is now gone (the secluded folder I had it in is now empty wtflip!) Mine keep corrupting and refuse to save! Ugh. LI2 had better saving than this crap. Sometimes it will say "save failed" a lot, and I have to keep going back to customize team and pressing check until it saves correctly. I think running as admin might help.1 point -
The Spirit Train
Drill Master reacted to Fush for a topic
Well this is... well there's not much to say, really. I felt like making a recreation of the Spirit Train (from the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks), so I did. Took me a while and several attempts to get it right but I'm satisfied with the result. I opted for a realistically-proportioned train as opposed to the super-deformed train used within the game itself. I required a fair bit of SNOT in the engine itself, but the rest of the cars are pretty straightforward. That is all there is to say. Critique away.1 point -

Holy cow, this game has some big face textures. Still a pretty HQ Sparks face texture (128x128) EDIT: Somehow I am disappointed in these textures, at least Silicon Dreams ditched the eyes with white around the irises...1 point -

Pokemon!
Cloudstrife987 reacted to AFK for a topic
I haven't played a Pokemon game in a long while, but the Japanese version of Pokemon Platinum was my favorite. I got kinda far before I had to stop because I was messing things up with my inability to read Japanese.1 point -
Extracting the videos
Cloudstrife987 reacted to Brickulator for a topic
That's what I thought, I tried an older version but that didn't work either. I'll see if I can find a really old version from around 1997 or something. EDIT: I just tried to get outro.smk to play instead of legomed.smk, which didn't work, so I tried again with mindcap.smk and it still didn't work. Both times it just stayed as a black screen, even after 30 seconds, until I pressed space which loaded the information centre as usual. But I imagine that's only because I'm far from an expert at hex editing. EDIT 2: I found a version history for Smacker here but I'm not sure how useful that is. I can't find a version history of the smk tools program, or any download links apart from the one I found earlier. EDIT 3: After a bit of messing with the files I converted the intro.smk equivalent into a bik file and ended up with 1 minute 44 seconds of this: So there is something there. Maybe. I think the most likely explanation for the smks not working properly is that the extractor I found isn't really compatible with these SI files. I haven't been able to get anything usable extracted with it. EDIT 4: I found the underwater lift thing again, Floor2.smk. Hooray! EDIT 5: After a bit more investigation, I found jamesster's upload of INSTALLS.SMK on youtube and had a look on my own disc. This one plays perfectly which does make me think that the issue must be with the extraction (INSTALLS.SMK is not contained in a .SI file or any kind of archive).1 point -
