The Idiot's Guide to LEGO Racers 2

So I found an old video I recorded in 2009. Enjoy.

    LEGO Racers Beta Project

Here's the PatchIt! Compatible download, Rob N Hood. http://le717.github.io/ShareIt/Texture/LEGO-Racers-Beta-Project/LEGO_Racers_Beta_Project_v1.0.zip You may want to add this to the topic post. This is only the contents of the BETA PROJECT folder. I can't post the other without permission from RobExplorien first. It looks nice! I'm not sure to what extent as my installation is badly broken, but I'll fix it soon and give you more feedback on it. I didn't notice those other images when I saw the more filled-in shields. I thought "Wow! Now that is a shield!". Maybe instead of having it in here, it can be taken out and released in some other pack? I really like them. Gives the effect of having more protection than these small spinning lines.

    LEGO Racers Beta Project

Going by the screenshots we have, the more solid looking shields were a glitch - all the other screenshots in that batch showed that the other textures with cutouts weren't working: Otherwise, it's looking nice.

    Heightmap Converter

I've started working on the next release, which will properly display walls. Here's a screenshot of what I've got so far: Still unfinished, of course. The texture still doesn't match the specific shape, a few corners still "fold" wrong, and non-visible walls aren't their usual dark-blueish texture. Other things that are almost complete: - The file browswer - Autoloading of the surf map (ex: if you load "High_12.map", it'll automatically also load "Surf_12.map" if it exists.) - Biome selection, including custom biomes I may also add loading the Dugg.map, since its extra information would be super easy to implement. Then again, for a full-map preview, it's not particularly useful.

Tutorial: Setting Up/Installing a LEGO Racers Mod

Thanks! I don't quite understand the first suggestion though, could you please reword it a little? I have added the others though, again thank you. Sure. In Windows XP any administrator account can freely modify the folders in "C:Program Files", however in Windows Vista onwards programs run with user level permissions, even if the user is an administrator. Attempts to modify the folders in "C:Program Files" and "C:Program Files (x86)" with the file browser be greeted with the User Access Control dialog asking to confirm that the program should be run with administrator level permissions. It's a security feature to prevent programs from running with the ability to modify system files without the users knowledge. Anyway, JAMExtractor doesn't have any way of requesting the additional permissions to modify the folder and would fail (nor would doing so be very ideal as any programs to edit the files for a mod would need to do this also). It would be best to run the game from a folder that the user owns, which is the default for folders in "C:UsersYOUR_USERNAME" like the Documents folder. It is also possible to add a user to a folder with Right-Click > Properties > Security > Edit > Add > *Enter username* > OK > *Check box "Full control" under "Allow"* > OK if the folder is placed in one of the program files folders.
