LL-947 Space Defender
ProfessorBrickkeeper and 11 others reacted to Ayliffe for a topic
Built to replace the ageing fleet of LL-918 one-man spacecrafts, the LL-947 has 6 side mounted lasers on the wings to defend itself from the forces of Blacktron, which was a key problem with the old 918 class spacecrafts, who couldn't defend themselves if they ran into trouble. There are numerous reports that some of these have been modified by Blacktron to use against our forces, but so far there is no photographic evidence of these occurrences. Check out my photostream for more images! https://www.flickr.com/photos/ayliffemakit/12 points -

AMD/ATI Radeon video card compatibility problem
Sharkly and one other reacted to Ninjarelic for a topic
I've been trying to find a way to get LRR to work on my new PC for weeks now, after reading endless forums and discussions with AMD card users having the same problems as me, i would like to share how i got the game to run for me. Specs: PC - Alienware Aurora R4 Video Card - AMD Radeon HD 8990 OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Processor - Intel core I7-4960X CPU, 3.60GHz, 3601Mhz, 6 cores, 12 logic processors So after copying the d3drm.dll file into the main LRR folder, i moved the shortcut labled LegoRR to the desktop. Opened CLGen, selected Vodoo 2 and left it open on screen. (This should stop the game from crashing during start-up and when starting a mission) Then right-clicked the LegoRR shortcut, used compatability mode with the following boxes checked off: -Disable visual themes -Disable desktop composition -Disable scaling on high DPI settings -Run this program as administrator After this there is only one more thing. (As far as i know, this only applies to cards using CrossfireX Mode) Go into Catalyst Control Centre, the Gaming, select 3D Application Settings. + Add, search files until you find the LegoRR.exe shortcut, and select it. This should allow you to change the graphical features used when running this specific game. Scroll down until you find CrossfireX Mode, open the options list for it and select Disable, then Save. This should stop the screen flickering and un-textured landslide screen transition, and (if you got this far before) the HUD flickering/flashing while in missions. This isn't a complete fix though, just after finding this out and playing a couple missions, the game crashed as soon as i tried to teleport down a Loader Dozer. I hope this helps people, and i'm open for suggestions (and also advice on how to teleport large vehicles without crashing the game) Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So I was playing the game again today, and very gingerly i teleported down a Large vehicle. (Chrome Crusher) The animation lowed the game significantly, even more than rockslides or drilling, but it didn't crash this time. It also let me teleport down a Loader Dozer. It was on a different level than before, but i really hope it isn't level specific. I would much rather it just be an occasional glitch.2 points -

Minecraft Movie
The Ace Railgun and one other reacted to Tauka Usanake for a topic
So I honestly can't be the first one, let alone the only one, to just learn of this that happened about two months ago. The title says enough: Mojang is coming out with a Minecraft movie. After the success that was The LEGO Movie, headed by Warner Bros. and produced/co produced by Roy Lee, it only seemed logical that Minecraft, an equally amazing and blocky product, should get the same treatment. WB approached Mojang to acquire the rights to make the movie and got Roy Lee from The LEGO Movie to produce it. They also got a Jill Messick from movies Mean Girls and Mean Moms to help out in production (and that can only be INTERESTING). Add to that, it's planned to be a live-action film (MOAR INTERESTING). It's already been acknowledged by Notch on his Twitter feed that they are working on it. As traditional of him he wanted to be the first one to release the news. Other than that, I haven't seen much else come out of it save for those first days. As said, this is old news and I just learned of it, but I didn't see anything on RRU that made mention to it (I did a search at least). If anyone else has any information on this it would be nice to share it around. Otherwise it would be nice to hear what everyone thinks about it. My two cents: Sources: http://www.cnet.com/news/minecraft-movie-in-the-works-at-warner-bros/ http://www.deadline.com/2014/02/minecraft-movie-warner-bros-lego-movie-producer/2 points -

LEGO Racers Recreations
Brightfall reacted to Jimbob for a topic
UPDATE: If you'd like to build these models yourself, check out the part lists and instructions I've made here. LEGO Racers Recreations The characters in Lego Racers are so great, that after seeing many pictures of people's recreations of them, I decided I had to have my own. Not just the bosses though, but all 24 racers in the game. Using jamesster's great LDD boss racer designs he uploaded, as well as my own LDD opponent car designs, I have collected the first 12 of the 24 racers in the game - all character's for circuits 1, 2, 4, and 5. I'm very proud of them, and in my excitement thought I'd share them with you First, here are pictures of them all together: More detail on the Circuit 1/4 cars: Captain Redbeard I think Captain Redbeard is pretty epic, although unfortunately due to his peg leg he doesn't sit down very well. Ann Droid This guy has the black car that several opponents share, but is still quite fun. Governor Broadside A bright character, at some point I'll replace the back flag with a 2x2 plate and a printed decal to be more like the game's one. Pharaoh Mummy I think this guy is pretty cool too, his car just seems to work nicely. Robin Hood Ah, Robin Hood, one of my favourites from the game. As his centre sloping section isn't available in green, I had to do some DIY. At first I tried dyeing it like Jamesster suggested, but unfortunately melted the bricks and the dye barely started to work - instead of trying again I figured I wouldn't waste money when the colour was darker than I wanted anyway. So I painted the parts, choosing to do all the green ones for consistency. The flash makes the brush strokes more obvious... And also the minifigure arrived with a split leg and scratches on its back, despite being described as 'good condition', but I guess that's to be expected from Bricklink every now and then. Johnny Thunder And finally, Johnny Thunder, another of my favourites. I think the game designers did well to make his car look so cool. More detail on the Circuit 2/5 cars: King Kahuka Ook-ah-ook-ook. Ook-ah-ah-ook-ah, ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Ah-ook-ah-ook-ook-ah-ook. Achu Grrr, a chipped face (not visible here)! Well, his car is still cool. That green clip at the back, which King Kahuka also has, is only available in two sets so had to be shipped over from two different sellers in Canada and the USA, these racers are a mixture of USA, UK and Canadian blood Commander Cold Brrr, this guy's so cool. Islander Another of the black car owner's, but still epic. I kind of want to hug him. Wait, I'll be right back. Okay, next up... Royal Knight All hail the king! This guy defends royalty with a rather interesting blend of blue and red. Baron Von Baron He probably has one of the (if not the) biggest cars, suiting his villainous personality. I wonder what that replacement wheel at the back is for, it's a little too small I also have designed some dioramas to display them on, which fit nicely into my cabinets. Credit to jamesster again for the boss models: Circuit 1 Diorama The space at the back will have a tent in it, and the palm trees obviously leaves on top, I've just never owned one so don't know how they fit on Also the models won't be supported by those stands, it's just for LDD to hold them in place. I was looking for a way to have bricks floating, and this seemed the best to me, but if anyone has any suggestions involving transparent bricks I'd be happy to hear them! Additionally, the bricks will be from the original desert Johnny Thunder sets where possible (e.g. the printed tower things). Circuit 2 Diorama This one isn't as dynamic, but I wasn't sure how to make it so. The castle walls will have the brick textures. So, what do you think?1 point -

I really don't know what to make of this. Skip to 1:25. This guy worked at Digital Domain, the creators of Alpha Team, and the animation includes TeeVee and Ogel (who, unlike the rest of the characters, actually look like their finalized counterparts), so it's obviously Alpha Team related. LEGO Racers - Different Released Versions - The Definitive List (?)
Rocket Racer reacted to JrMasterModelBuilder for a topic
Having come into possessions of all 3 known different copies of LEGO Racers, I though I should assemble a complete list of all the different copes and their differences. UPDATE: Based on some other topics there may be some other, much less common versions. I cannot personally confirm or deny their existance. The copies, in order of file date modifies, are: 1999 NoDRM 1999 DRM (SafeDisc Version 1.0) 2001 (Re-release) It should be noted that, based on the support contact information in the ReadMe, it's possible that the International copy of the 1999 version of LEGO Racers is the version that has no DRM, but the US 1999 copy is the one with SafeDisc DRM. These are the files that differ between versions: A rundown of how files differ: Keen eyed observers will note that though all the LEGO.JAM files were made in 1999, the 2001 re-release has a different JAM. This is a diff of the files within: Also, the 2001 copy will crash if you give it the 1999 JAM, and vice versa. As for what's different about actual gameplay and execution, here is what I noticed in my short testing. The 2001 game does crash when attempting to play with extracted archives as already established, though oddly enough ProcMon shows the game accessing the extraced directories, tough to say what's going on here. Trophies do work in the 2001 copy of the game, at least if you transplant a save file from the 1999 version (I think this has already been noted). I have not tried beating a circuit race Steering does seem slightly harder on the 2001 version, at least when using the keyboard. I have not tried a game controller. Wraps seem to take me exactly as far in both versions. I tested from the same place at the end of the shortcut in Desert Adventure Dragway, and both copies put me just past where the obelisk lands. All loading screens have blue borders except for Pirate Skull Pass in both 1999 versions. According to the hashes, I have the exact same copy references >here. Perhaps something else is at play, such as different screen resolutions. The track picker has different colored borders, most notably, Rocket Racer Run's border is yellow in both 1999 versions, but red in 2001. The warp sound effect does sound different in the 2001 version. There don't appear to be any different files associated with it, so perhaps it's a different effect applied by the exe? Well, that's all I know so-far. Let me know if there is anything anyone anyone wants to know more about! UPDATE 1: Added difference notes 5-7. UPDATE 2: Added different JAM crashing notes. UPDATE 3: Added note on possible other versions.1 point -

Intro Cutscene Mod - Paradise City
aidenpons reacted to Jimbob for a topic
This is a modification I made to demonstrate many of the things you can do with cutscenes, as covered in my >Custom Cutscenes tutorial. It changes the 'intro' to LEGO Racers 2, where you first speak to Sparky on Sandy Bay and learn the controls, replacing it with an intro to the island in a movie-style with various camera techniques (and a suitable background song to go with it). You can check out the mod in the video below: http://youtu.be/sVz6zpMtErA Credits: - A huge thanks to le717 for recording this mod for me! - le717 combined the mod with 's >Hudless Arrowless mod, so thank you Segatendo for that - The song that is played is Paradise City by Guns N' Roses. Because this mod contains a song, uploading it would be a breach of copyright. However, other than the song, there is only one file that is modified so I'll post it below. The script below is INTRO1.TXT, which you can find in GAME DATA/SCRIPTS/SANDY ISLAND. I have commented it to some extent to give you an idea of what is going on in each section. The majority of this cutscene didn't actually take that long to produce, the only part that took hours (literally) was the small section with the Sandy Bay racers having a conversation. I tried putting them in various places around the island and doing different things, but it turned out these characters (and them alone, I'm pretty sure) are really buggy to work with as they are both found around the island and conversed with before/after races. If you can avoid using them, I would, hence why that particular section wasn't as good as the rest.1 point -

Did you just...? Did I just what? I just listened to McJobless's attempts. Perhaps I should addressing you as McThunderless now? I'd like to hear McStudz Rock Racer attempt. McThuderless didn't sound American enough to me (I've always considered RR to be American). I've got the mic out now, will edit post with my Sam Sinister attempt.1 point -
30 Screenshots #2: The Infomaniac's Revenge
aidenpons reacted to TrussROBLOX for a topic
Yeah, I've actually never had a jetski on land, because I don't go on the jetski much. In fact, that's the new theme for 30 Screenshots #3: Xtreme Racing (get it? LI3: Xtreme Stunts, 30 Screenshots 3: Xtreme Racing ) The Infomaniac was texture swapping and changing things. It was the hardest to do, but it looked the best. It was hard, but I had to not only swap the face texture, but also the chest texture and the body color. Bodyred was shorter than bodyblck, so when I copied and pasted it, it changed the file size and the thing crashed. Then I realized I just needed to copy it in, not copy + paste. So after typing it in, I needed to change the colors. This was really hard because Laura kept walking after getting the donuts and she didn't appear outside, either. So sometimes I would barely change anything, and sometimes I would accidentally color something else wrong. But yeah, it looked good. That would be 60 posts (seperately) . Yeah, that's why I crammed it in into one topic...1 point -

Very Large Mobile Laser Tank
Car CrazeXVI reacted to RockmoddeR for a topic
The Very Large Mobile Laser Tank is the pride and joy of the Laser mining task force on the LMS Explorer. Not only does it have 1.5 times the range of a large mobile laser cutter, it consumes 50% less crystal energy with each shot, while mining all types of rock 25% faster. It also serves as a massive threat to the ambient life on the planet, due to the fact that it can be equipped with different beam filters, like the Battlemech. This incredible functionality comes with a hefty price though; The total crystal cost exceeds the cost of a tunnel transport by 50% at a cost of 9 crystals. With a speed 80% that of a Chrome Crusher, it is an invincible, but nearly immobile juggernaut. It also contains experimental Rockets that work to the same effect as dynamite, with a range of nearly 70 feet.1 point -
Long Range Laser Tower
Car CrazeXVI reacted to TheEPICtrainrider for a topic
It can shoot two powers of lasers. The first power is a little more powerful then regular lasers, and can destroy one Hard Rock wall in one shot. Costs one energy crystal. The second power costs three energy crystals, but is really powerful. Average damage is 4 hard rock walls in one shot. In 3 shots it can destroy a solid rock wall. As the title states, it is long range, which is about 3 miles. (this is long range compared to other Laser Towers.) (this is by Rock Raiders PC game values) Somewhere along the line, I drifted away from Rockraiders, and more into Blacktron... So ignore my lack of teal parts. And my lack of a backround/camera that takes JPG's1 point
