hypothetical RR-themed (and general Lego) video game covers
Ayliffe and 2 others reacted to Arthuriel for a topic
After watching the Star Wars Kinect Video on Cinemassacre.com (some of you may know the AVGN) I thought: "A game, where you can do different things like dancing etc.? Okay, maybe the games itself aren't half bad, but what has Star Wars to do with dancing?" My next thought was: "What other game/ film/ book etc. has the potential to make a ton of Off Topic games out of it?" As a RRU-member I naturally had to choose Rock Raiders and I wrote down some titles, which where for the most part parodies of other games titles.. ...and one of the examples was Caffeine Hero. Why? I don't know. I probably remembered the South Park episode with "Guitar Hero" and the two parodies "Heroin Hero" and "Rehab Hero". I know, that Sandwich Hero would be way to obvious. Therefore I took something sophisticated Sparks' addiction to coffee and made this crazy video game cover. FAQ: Q: That's crazy/ pure madness/ insanity etc.! A: Of course it is. Did you expect something sane? I hope, that answered all your questions PS: I will try to make other Rock Raiders themed video game covers, too, but I had to start somewhere and I thought, that Caffeine was a good (or "good") idea to begin with. Sparks' Caffeine Hero Elbows&Knees Another hypothetical game with an imaginary background story: "Talking about controversial video games in the Lego world: Developed by Heretic Brick, "Elbows&Knees" was the first game, which depicted minifigures with actual elbow and knee joints. Angry mobs, moral outrages and panics followed shortly after. It was also the first game, which got the "HI"-raring, because of its content, which challenged a taboo in the minifigure world." FAQ: Q: Wait... ...this game got an actual rating and an official release, although it almost lead to collapses of several Lego minilands? The whole story is bogus! A: Of course! Sanity has no place in the Lego world. The background story is based on absolutely nothing on reliable sources.3 points -

You know, sometimes you have to record the worst moments as an example piece. Zephyria MFW Seaborgium can't tell when I'm talking about the title of something, and this tries to appear smart, but just f****ing fails. I absolutely "love" our new members. Ben24x7 Well, I can certainly "not" understand th... ...Wait, what... ...Oh, darn it. Shadowblaze MFW Ben posts a comment but he doesn't know what to write so he just types senseless stuff. Quisoves Pugnat Beg pardon? Seaborgium @Zephyria: What does "MFW" stand for? Shadowblaze "My Face When". I searched on Google. Seaborgium No wait. It isn't even about the Latin, is it? It's about that whole "Prepare to Die" thing, isn't it? So you have publicly declared me a disgusting human being because I failed to get your little reference and made a little joke about it. I am a horrible person who must be publicly derided, because of that? Seriously Alcom1 Yes seriously. This is a serious issue. There are conflicts between the crowd of newer members and the old Veterans-of-forum-Life that should be fixed. Otherwise we are going to have more outbursts like this. Alcom1 Also, you appear to have been labeled a 'nuisance' and not a 'disgusting human being'. Zephyria's comment is of no threat to you. Just tank it and post with finesse. Quisoves Pugnat @Alcom While I agree that he's probably best to ignore the insult, I don't think that it can be written off as a conflict between a newer member and a forum-veteran. It's a matter of charity, or a lack thereof. If you don't respect someone when he's new, you're not going to truly respect him simply because he's spent more time here. TheDoctor My drama. Quisoves Pugnat Don't get me wrong, I understand that in any community, there will always be a certain tension between newcomers and old-timers. But there are some things that time alone cannot not change and that tension cannot be blamed for. If you prick a newbie, will he not bleed? TheDoctor I harbor great contempt for a large numbers of active members, but I simply do not involve myself. I have no interest in their matters and have a much nicer time only replying to that which hold any appreciable interest in. Seaborgium @Alcom: I see that there is a rift. However this conflict between "veterans" and newbies is simply immature and pointless. If what you say, Alcom, is correct(which it probably is) this isn't a response to an offense, it's simply a pretense to vent out general anger against newcomers. It's certainly not mature and does not lead to healthy forums or making friends. Seaborgium I have dealt with people whose sense of humor befuddles me. When I saw some of your posts on the LU Gallery, I was under the impression that you were a pretentious person. At some point I realized that this was your sense of humor and that you meant no wrong, and are in fact a decent person. If I had decided to make angry comments at the time, and I am glad I didn't, because you and I would likely be enemies. This kind of behavior is bad for the whole community and doesn't just seem e... Seaborgium xcusable as 'vets vs. newbies'. Sadie Meowsalot @Zeph: MFW you're being a d*** to people @Ben24x7: you aren't funny @TheDoctor: and that's why you always feel bitter @Seaborgium: you. You live up to your name in instability. stop it. @Alcom: "alcom... I like you" - Lair3 points -
Has anyone seen Vectrex4life's LEGO Racers reviews?

Thanks for posting this and supporting my videos! I have to admit that my Lego Racers 1 and 2 reviews weren't as good as they could have been. My newer reviews are a lot better. I will get to reviewing a TON more Lego games like Stunt Rally, Rock Raiders, Creator, Island Extreme Stunts, and others. Thank you again Cloudstrife987!3 points -

LEGO Chess Patch
lol username reacted to mumboking for a topic
I read on Wikipedia that there was a patch for LEGO Chess, so I went looking for it. First result: ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/LEGO/patches/LegoChess/ Seems a bit strange that it's on EA's site... Did they ever publish LEGO Chess? The patch doesn't work for me, it just makes the game keep asking for a disc, even though it's there. Thought I might as well post it here anyway. EDIT: Just found this patch: http://support.selectsoft.com/download/chesscdfix.exe I don't need the CD in the drive any more, but it crashes randomly. EDIT 2: Archived patch from EA's FTP server: Information: https://archive.org/download/ftp_ftp.ea.com_2014.03/2014.03.ftp.ea.com.tar/ftp.ea.com%2Fpub%2FLEGO%2Fpatches%2FLegoChess%2FLchessupgr.txt Patch: https://archive.org/download/ftp_ftp.ea.com_2014.03/2014.03.ftp.ea.com.tar/ftp.ea.com%2Fpub%2FLEGO%2Fpatches%2FLegoChess%2FLchessupgr.zip Archived patch from Selectsoft's website: https://web.archive.org/web/20070319195837/http://support.selectsoft.com/download/chesscdfix.exe Archived patch from FocusMM's website: https://web.archive.org/web/20180830130334/http://supportfiles.focusmm.co.uk/updates/lego/chess/chesscdfix.exe EDIT 3: RRU Download link: https://www.rockraidersunited.com/files/dl-r267/1 point -

MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP
aidenpons reacted to apemax for a topic
Hey all. This is the beginning of my latest LEGO project, A motorised Supermarine Spitfire. I'm going to try and pack as many functions into it as possible such as the rudder, elevator and ailerons all controlled from the cockpit, motorised engine (Also controlled from the cockpit) and working landing gear (Hopefully ). Here's my progress so far: As you can see I've done the very front section which also includes the engine. I still need to figure out how to attach the wings as well as how to do the landing gear. If anyone as any suggestions I'm all ears. I'll leave you with a few more pictures:1 point -
MOC: Technic Spitfire WIP
aidenpons reacted to apemax for a topic
Well after another month I finally have another update to this build. (Which is taking way longer than I planned.) I've gotten quite a bit of progress done since last time but there's still a bit more to do. First up I've done quite a bit of the tail section since last time. I've added the tail fin as well as the rudder control surface although the elevators are proving to be a bit tricky. The current way I have to control them isn't really working at all so I need to come up with a better way to do that. If anyone has any ideas feel free to suggest them. Looking a bit more like it should now isn't it? The wings have also been worked on and are now pretty much at there full wingspan which at the moment is about 89cm or about 35 inches. The ailerons have also been added and they actually work quite well. The entire left or right wing depending on which way you look at it. Both of the mechanisms for the landing gear and ailerons. I've also built and added the propeller which I think turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Also looks quite good when spinning but you'll have to wait for the video to see that. Finally a view of the overall progress I've made. Really starting to look like a Spitfire now isn't it? One last thing is that I've also put in the M motor for the landing gear just in front of the IR receiver. Forgot to take a close up picture of that.1 point -

Huh. Both are the same, but just so happens none fixes my problem. I am playing, but suddenly it just crashes. Tried doing it on Windows XP compatibility mode, lasted longer, but still crashed. I use Windows 7 x32. Help me out, I really love this game. EDIT: Solved. Needed to run it in Win 95 Compatibility Mode.1 point
