The LEGO Movie Franchise

Well, frankly put, it won't be as big. Honestly, TLM was a great advertisement which was disguised. It was created as a glorified commercial, and the guys put in charge of making it decided to go the extra mile. Do you see ANY of them on the production team for the sequel? No? Exactly. Now, I'm not saying TLM2 will be BAD. It just won't be as big. I mean, look at The Adventures of Clutch Powers. It was by its very nature a commercial. I only watched it because it was LEGO. Do people remember it, even when TLM was still in pre-production? Not really. Should they watch Clutch Powers? Probably not. TLM was, by critics' standards, a "decent" film. The only reason it took off like it did is because of what its core was: LEGO. It was the first of its kind, and it was carefully and lovingly made by people who cared about both the product and the making of the film. If you took out the LEGO in The LEGO Movie, what do we have? A B-rated cartoon which would otherwise be forgotten before a couple years. People will catch on to this and move on. Or maybe they won't. You see the Marvel films? They are currently the SECOND largest movie franchise (Recently beating James Bond and second only to Harry Potter). These films have a deep, interesting plot to them. TLM was no more than fan service done well. Like I said, without the LEGO, most of us wouldn't even be talking about it, on ANY social medium (or even have WATCHED it). Basically, what I'm saying in this late hour is that TLM won't be a HUGE franchise. We'll have the sequel, some sets, and that's it. TLM can become too much of a good thing. It might take off in a completely consumer-oriented way (like the LEGO TT games), with the masses blindly buying the same reheated formula under a different name. Maybe the new producers and director will continue to do TLM justice. It's too soon to put the chips down yet. What I am saying is, if TLM becomes a massive franchise, it's all thanks to it being just that: A LEGO movie. Something people wanted, and now that it's been delivered, the novelty is gone. Make too many sequels and spinoffs, and TLM will feel more thrown in one's face than something enjoyable. LIKE THE TT GAMES. TL;DR? The masses will mindlessly consume any and all TLM sequels and spinoffs, but I won't expect ANY of them to have the same impact the original did.4 points -

I'll take the CUUSOO site (name and all) any day over what it has (in my opinion) been degraded to. In addition to some of the things you mentioned, they have made it so you can start submitting creations at age thirteen- another double edged sword, certainly. They also made a rule that it gets deleted after a year, no matter how much support you have received. This also makes it even harder than it currently is to have projects without a supporting IP behind them get to 10,000.1 point -

I suppose this was inevitable, though it is still very . I want to be optimistic because there are at least a few cases where extending something past its natural life didn't end up too badly - look at Toy Story. I just hope that the right people will continue to put in the effort that made the first film what it was, so we don't end up with a flood of heartless merchandising and sequels and direct-to-DVD spinoffs that are just trying to grab a piece of the success of the first film.1 point -

The Rock Raider Chronicles
aidenpons reacted to Drill Master for a topic
As some of you may know, I had made a comic called "The Rock Raider Chronicles" which is a series of stories that I come up with based on LRR. Well, due to my thoughts, I have decided to end The Rock Raider Chronicles as a comic, and restart it as written stories. I see myself as a better writer than drawer, and this way I can go for the Two fan fiction writer awards on the side. My first story will be what my comic started out with: "Ryley and Sam", a story about two best friends training to climb aboard the LMS Acension. I will have these stories posted here at least every three to five days, depending what I'm doing during that time. I will work on "Ryley and Sam" and hope to post it soon! THE ROCK RAIDER CHRONICLES These are the stories of the legendary Rock Raiders! Story #1: "Ryley and Sam" 1053 Word count Story #2: "The LMS Acension" 340 Word Count Story #3: "Two Friends Apart" 992 Word Count Story #4: Seyena3 Entry #1 302 Word Count Story #5: "Exiled" 713 Word Count Total Word Count: 34001 point -

FXAA is decent for low-end computers. MSAA is what you usually want, for the clearest image. Mode probably switches between the different types, I'll have to check my nvidia control panel. (FXAA is fast approximate aa, it uses a standard image smoother which smooths it out just fine, but some stuff is a bit blurrier. MSAA is Multisample AA, I believe it sets the game's INTERNAL rendering resolution higher than what it is now, then downscales it to your display resolution, similar to how Apple's screens work) I think that 1080p@4xMSAA is actually rendering at 4k resolution. It's either 4x or 2x, I forget which.1 point -
Rock Raiders Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting LEGO Rock Raiders Game Installer Not Running First try running the installing in compatibility mode for Windows 98. If it still does not work, you can still salvage your game by following this guide. "Missing d3drm.dll" Error When Running Rock Raiders Firstly you'll need to download the missing DLL here. Then place this DLL file in your installation directory (Usually "C:\Program Files\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders" ) or in your C:\Windows\System\System32 folder. Game Videos Not Playing First ensure you have the game disc in the drive as the video files are on the disc. If the videos still don't play you may need to install this required codec. Music Won't Play The game is burnt like an audio CD, allowing it to be played in CD players. First ensure you have the game disc in the drive as the music files are on the disc. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for the music not to play. One of the reasons is that you have a reproduction copy which does not have the audio track on the disc, this is a common issue. Game Lag on Windows 8/10 LEGO Rock Raiders will lag in fullscreen mode when it is run on Windows 8/10. The only known solution to this issue is to run the game in windowed mode. Other solutions to try for problems Before creating a topic about your issue, please try some extra troubleshooting, such as these. Run the game with compatibility mode for Windows XP. Turn on 'Disable Visual Themes', 'Disable Desktop Composition' and 'Reduced Colour Mode' for 16bit for newer systems. Run the game in administrator mode. Run the game in windowed mode. Try the Microsoft Compatibility Toolkit. Unable to find a Solution If these solutions are unable to fix your problem, please post a topic in this forum. Please include details from the following list. Providing these details will speed up the help process. Operating System Version (e.g Windows 10) Graphics Card Model (e.g AMD Radeon R970x) Description of the issue. What you have already tried. Screenshots of the issue.1 point
