I now have a (incomplete) 6940 "Alien Moon Stalker"!
STUDZ and 2 others reacted to mumboking for a topic
Looking in a charity shop today, I didn't find anything interesting until I spotted this on the floor behind a baby cot (it had fallen from a shelf). As you may be able to see, it was taped shut, so I had no idea if it was all there or if it was even the right set inside. I lifted the edges where I could and saw a few matching parts for this set, so I thought "Why not?". For those that can't see properly, it was priced at £6.00 I had 3 main reasons for buying this: I do not want some kid to rip the tape off too quickly, ruining the box. It's Classic Space LEGO. It's LEGO. Luckily, the tape came off easily without ripping anything, apart from a tiny bit on the edges. The box is in rather nice condition, although a part of the box under the flap is ripped... There was something slightly annoying though. They put the sticker on the box before writing on it, resulting in the price and date being marked into the box. Opening it, it was obvious that it wasn't just LEGO in there. There were a few Tyco Super Blocks in there as well. The Tyco set is obviously incomplete, judging by it's instructions. It does have the LEGO set instructions! After a while sorting through pieces, I managed to assemble most of the set. I was expecting bite marks and fading, but the bricks are in great condition! I might as well list the missing pieces: I'm using Peeron for the parts list and part numbers. So, if I checked and counted correctly, there's 34 missing pieces. About 87% complete; not too bad! It seems strange to me that part 3069bp25 in OldGray is used, but gets hidden by a 2x2 plate directly over it in the next step. EDIT: Is it common for a 3068b in OldGray to have no info underneath apart from just the number 8? One of them in this set is like this... Identical otherwise...3 points -

Unused Stuff in IXS
emily and one other reacted to lol username for a topic
Has this been discussed here before? There's unused stuff in IXS and if it hasn't been discussed yet I think it should. I haven't looked at every corner of the game's guts, or tried to figure out any of what I did come across, but here's a couple things I'd noticed a while back while looking for other stuff... Maybe somebody else will be a bit more interested and dig into it all. cdcZ01LGICUTSCENESSAYTEXTOLD_CUTSCENE_TEXT.TXT Pretty obvious. IXS's text doesn't seem to be in an easily readable format (at least if you're just eyeballing it) but there's some shreds of readable text near the beginning which I haven't seen in-game: S..€....13ACPTREDG:Great. I’ll get my br....oomÃOh,é did notice thÖ.B . iýlefûañraiÃŒof pizz.2‚.acdcQUESTS Quest-related stuff, plenty of it doesn't seem related to anything in-game. What exactly are these files responsible for? Are they scripting or something? I have no clue! But there's stuff like 78MEDICALWORRY.QST, 82BIRDNEST.QST, HOTTUB.QST, ARSEPIE.QST... uh, yeah. Might be worth looking into.2 points -
LEGO TV Show Coming Next Year
coffins and one other reacted to lol username for a topic
This has already been discussed, but I am posting it here as well for permanency: LEGO is considering various options for TV shows, including a reality competition TV show next year, featuring contestants striving to become Master Builders, and it will be tied into apps somehow. That's about all we know at the moment. Sources: Brickset Entertainment Weekly2 points -

Hi everyone, After many discussion with Sluicer about different File Formats. We can point out many parts of *.ngx_texture format: I can read a lot of NGX_Texture files, but so much bug to fix, and I don't test my tools on other Lego Games as Hobbit! So there is many works to down!! Thanks to Sluicer!1 point -
Are all car sets the same speed etc?

Going by how he mentioned speed running and car sets, I think he's asking about differences between playable car chassis, not opponents.1 point -

*laughs a little* Most people who run their game on a Win7 have to set the compatibility mode. Try running it in compatibility for Windows XP SP2 (or 3), as that's closer to when the game came out. (Somebody, refresh my memory: what's the lowest compatibilty setting you can get on Win8?) Also, does it come up with an error message? Like "FATAL DRAIN ERROR" or is the only box you see the useless and oh-so-informative "LegoRacers.exe has stopped working..."1 point -

You've messed up your JAM Extractor installation. As you can see from the image below, the JAM extractor requires all those files to work (well, except for LEGO.JAM... ). http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=78510 Do this: Delete the python33.dll and JAM Extractor files from your Desktop. Download a new copy of the JAM Extractor, extract that entire Zip, and view the contents. Copy the exe.win32-3.3 folder (not just one file, the whole folder) from the build folder and paste it on your Desktop. Now try to extract the JAM archive. JMMB, have you considered using the GitHub Releases feature and putting up individual zip downloads of the JAM Extractor for Windows and Mac on the v1.2 tag? That might help clear up any future confusion and avoid these kinds of incidents.1 point -

I uploaded a new version of the ExtractNxgMESH Tool. https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/ExtractNxgMESH_157993.zip It now supports MESH chunks in version 0x04, 0x05, 0x2e, 0x2f, 0x30, 0xa9 and 0xaa in combination with TXGH chunks in version 0x06, 0x07, 0x08, 0x09, 0x0a and 0x0c. Combinations with TXGH chunks in version 0x01, 0x03, 0x04 and 0x05 might work. Still no support for files with relative vertex lists (e.g. faces). I am working on that. Does it work?1 point -
LEGO Soccer Mania Texture Rips
Quisoves Potoo reacted to Sluicer for a topic
What I did: I wrote a tool that can create .bmb files with one entry or replace an entry in an existing .bmb file (I did not remember - I had to refresh my mind ). I created one with the torso from Princess Leia (512x512) and replaced the 003.bmb in the game folder 'LEGO MediaSoccer ManiaManiaCDMinifigBitmapsTorso_F'. And I changed the values for the '003_Grey' entry in the Colours.bmb (that is the reason for the flesh colored arms and hat). But I do not know where the characters are defined. And it still works (left ): Here is the tool to create .bmb files: https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/CreateBMB_920148.zip CreateBmb <inputfile> [-o <outputfile>] [-m <mipmap>] [-r <replaceAtIndex>] <inputfile> - source file <outputfile> - output/destination file <mipmap> - number of mipmaps <replaceAtIndex> - replace <replaceAtIndex> file in destination file1 point
