    Npl Scripter v2.1 - UPDATE!

I was trying to use the old NPL scripter the other day, but for whatever reason it crashed whenever I tried compiling, it was written in a language I no longer use so I thought... stuff it, I'll re-write it. And so I did. NPL Scripter 2.0 Released! It's faster Text editor is less buggier All new syntax highlighting Live function search (better than that tree) Indicators for registers/timers in use Autocomplete The ability to have templates It now tells you if the compile was a success or not! You can now test to see if it will compile before actually doing it Removed Wizard because it's not good for anything other basic scripts which has now been replaced by the New from Template feature. Download in first post. Enjoy as usual.

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion

Seeing "Chamon" and "Zotax" in the same sentence is interesting. I'd get it, but I'm a bit hesitant to do so, as I'll be on a road trip over the holidays, and whoever delivers the mail tends to mix stuff up sometimes, so I prefer to be home and monitoring the all the mail when I'm expecting something. It'd probably turn out ok, but still... Maybe it'd arrive before I leave. Maybe it'd arrive after I return home. I could ask family at home to watch for it too. I'll try to get it if nobody else immediately can/wants to, but if somebody else wants to get it and scan it, that'd be good. Edit: Oh heck with it, buying it. Edit: Bought. "Estimated Delivery within 6-18 business days".

That's a different card game, Ace. There's actually two incarnations of that - first is the original Toa vs. Rahi, with challenges from the comics. They came in double decks (as well as packs), I believe. There's a separate set which doesn't really fit with the previous version using Bohrok. I have that one as well as a pack from the first. The loose pack stuff may be rare - there's definitely a card from it that was rare and holographic, but since there isn't a market for that stuff I can't really determine its rarity. The Toa Nuva building one is not one I'm familiar with, but my friend had it...scattered all over the place. When he gave/traded me all his Yugioh cards there were a bunch mixed in. I honestly have no idea how to play the game, since I have neither the rules nor a complete deck. On the topic of BIONICLE [board] games - I have Quest for Makuta, Mask of Light, and a Piraka game. Quest for Makuta is actually pretty fun. Definitely not rare, though.

This isn't rare AFAIK. I have all 3 versions of it. The gameplay sucks. I don't remember exactly how to play, but I recall there being only 3 cards that did anyting but advance a player by 1 (possibly a take-another-turn card?). Said cards would basically flip-flop the person who is in the lead a few times. Because of this, whoever went first had a significantly higher chance of winning, and there was basically nothing you could do to improve your chances of winning. I suppose you are supposed to take apart and re-assemble you're Toa Nuva while playing, but I never did. Unless I missed something, it was definitely the worst of the 3 card game series, and I thought the second series was problematic. I had fun playing the first series though.

Whoopsie-do, guess I didn't pay attention to the strikethrough. My bad. We have discovered a very oddly shaped cavern, and we don't know what's in it. The walls seem to make letters: X, I, R, O, and N. Plus, there's one cavern at the end. All we know about that last cavern is that it's rich in Energy Crystals. I've set you the lofty task of getting one hundred and fifty from these caverns: can you do it, Rock Raider? (This level overwrites Level13, Rock Hard) (note: the crystal bar on the side is outdated; you need 150. I just haven't updated the screenshot, that's all.) (click for larger image) Here the camera's outdated, but I'm fairly certain nobody cares about that. The last cavern is not photographed because SPOILERS. Manual: (includes Scorpion which may or may not need to be changed) http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/153 Cafeteria: (Scorpion is replaced with Bat to serve you right http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/156 To install: MANUAL: FIRST, rename the folder to "Level13," without quotes nor the comma. Just Level13. Then stuff the folder in your Levels/GameLevels and tell it to merge the folders and replace any files it comes across. In there's a .txt document named "CFG.txt." Overwrite the part of the cfg which talks about Level13 (Line 5420 ish) with that. YOU MUST HAVE THE SCORPION INSTALLED. Or, if you don't, just find the .ol and replace "Scorpion" with "IceMonster" or something that sounds nice. Even LargeDigger, if you're feeling pathetic. CAFETERIA: Stuff the .wadp anywhere you like and tell Cafeteria to load it. Something didn't work? Crash on startup? Crash on end of level loading screen? Rant at me in any way you feel sufficient. Here be the ObjectiveText, but frankly all you need to know is that you must collect 150 Energy Crystals. Don't be alarmed if you've only got 50 and got one cavern left. Also, it is kinda spoiler-ish... so yeah, just remember that you need to get 150 of those crystals. It's designed to be pasted in at Level13, which this level obviously uses. However, I'd advise you not to do this because it contains spoilers. inb4 everybody opens spoilers DIFFICULTY: Using Insane, hectic, and prone to restarts (I've had to do this, and I made it) if you fail to do certain things. Using Far easier, but still challenging. Using the original version: Booooring... (no seriously, the difficulty comes from the monsters. I've never wanted erosion to be a major part in my little mod) Playing this with vanilla LRR will simply be another long level in which you strip-mine everything and yell at your Loader Dozers for being killed by landslides. Oh, and install those other mods FIRST, then this map, or you'll overwrite my map with the Level13 that's in there. Landslides, you asked? Yep. Don't worry... they're not too deadly except they'll annoy you because of the- *claps hand over mouth* If you're playing this with my mod... ... good luck. You'll need it.

    The Windowless Building (WIP)

Well I finally had time to start working on this, i've been wanting to do it for a while but never had the free time to do it. So far I have level 1 complete, and the little ledge on the side is a reference to a joke later on in the Novel. The Windowless building is a structure from the Light Novel, A Certain Magical Index, hidden deep within Academy City. Yes, I'm going to build down further, I just wanted to get the basic layout first. Original:

    Mafia: The Game

A grey alien stared into the distance, his glowing eyes tinted red by the pair of sunglasses he happened to have on. Too much death. He thought of, many years ago, the wars. There, the death had a reason. Survival. This, though... this was different. It seemed he'd not get much sleep the future nights. Sleep can be a security risk. He checked his sidearm. The reactionary council was, instead of doing something sane like handing out weapons, implementing daily lynchings. Stupid politicians. Theo always knew he'd not die on a battlefield. Sadly. As the sun rose, he considered who he might vote for. Not a decision to be made lightly. Perhaps the vagrant known as Xi. Obvious candidate. Perhaps too obvious. The merchant Qui? Maybe. Definitely has the equipment. Theo knew he lacked data. Taking a shot in the dark, he pulled out his C-brain and inputted a vote. The former smuggler Jimbob. Not because of social stigma. Smugglers are necessary, and good on the worlds he was known to have visited. Theo thought he detected a minor change.

Would you mind elaborating on the competition? Little things like that always interest me. Sure. It wasn't official or anything - it was at a local Creative Kidsstuff. People brought in a LEGO model they made and were divided into age groups (I believe the youngest was 4 and under, and the oldest was either 13+ or 15+) and then people voted on one creation for each category. LEGO sets (some large ones, if I remember correctly) were distributed to the winners. The BIONICLE badges were given out to every entrant in two of the years, if I remember correctly. I may have more than one badge, but if I do it's floating around somewhere. Jamesster may have entered in it at some point - I wouldn't have known him, nor he me, but I'm under the impression that he lived in the Twin Cities as a kid.

I have this BIONICLE badge. They gave them out at a small local LEGO competition in St Paul. I have a bunch of old foam gear (some of it's kind of dirty and everything has some wear, obviously): Two Tahnok shields, one each of Lion and Wolf shields, Orient Expedition scimitar, Tahu sword, Onua Nuva Sword (I think, I'd have to check), golden sword (the kind that always is chrome as a piece), and one or two more, probably. I have some weird disk launcher thing that I believe was from 2004. I have no idea where it is, though.

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion

I'm just using this topic now as grounds for the general discussion of retro LEGO comics and the like with exception to things we already have topics geared towards like the 1994-2000 Klick/World Club magazine TimeBuster and TimeCruisers comics as it's more convenient and centralized than having a number of topics centered purely around a given comic/storybook/animated cartoon, and its contents will still be indexed by google for anyone looking to learn about any of the media discussed herein. I've updated the OP and topic title accordingly. With that said I wanted to share something of recent interest to me: Initially I discovered this obscure German Islanders comic book on Brickshelf, the title of which translates to "The Hunt for the Inca Gold". I tried doing some research on this, but I didn't return any directly relevant results, though I did find these two German articles detailing a German Islanders exhibit under the same name: http://www.berliner-zeitung.de/archiv/klasse-5e-besichtigte-ausstellung-in-der-hellersdorfer-einkaufspassage-der-lego-schatz-des-spree-centers,10810590,9374198.html http://www.berliner-zeitung.de/archiv/spree-center-zeigt-lego-ausstellung-abenteuer-im-dschungel,10810590,9357452.html It's possible the two could be linked given they're both German, they share the same name, and at least one of the articles mentions the exhibit features huge figures, and on the cover of the comic book appears a large islander model with a shield. I'll try to look into it further, but I'd like to know what anyone else thinks.

Well, you could blame them from an artistic standpoint, but I know what you mean. . The tragedy is that they could be enrichng the tastes of their consumers, but I suspect that their tastes would have to be enriched in order for that to happen. I live in the hope that one day a fan-game shall be made that is genuinely superb, and which becomes popular enough to force TT to raise its game (no pun intended )

    Xiron (a LRR map)

You mean the view of the entire level from Map Creator or something? Or just a screenshot that has been Zoomed Out by about 25000x? In any case, I wouldn't show you the final cavern and even if I did, you wouldn't be seeing half of what happens there... I'll leave it at that. Also, if it's the latter... ... no. That map took me three hours to complete, and that included a restart from stuffing up at the beginning (it's very easy to do that ) So I'll stick with the Map Creator, if that's fine by you. The problem that I've just found is that the Map Creator has fixed boundaries, meaning I need to take several screenshots and stitch them all together. Nevertheless, watch this space. EDIT: Or you pull a Pons and hoard your old XP machines from the past. (We've one that's 10+ years old: somewhat amusingly, it's the only one that hasn't needed a re-installation from losing system files Also, I'm considering upping the crystal quota to 200 instead of 150... but I'm not quite sure how well this would work as it might not actually be obtainable due to a couple of glitches that LRR has regarding crystals.

    Mafia: The Game

A saddened individual, thin, tall, and graced with a slight mustache, looked with baleful grey eyes upon a sapphire grocery bag. Marked with the insignia of some first-world corporation (the likes of which most were at most dim memories to the "Naxians,") it was the sort of thing that passed for ceremonial on Ariadne Δ7. Trembling, he set his hand upon its soft surface. His eyes, however, could not move from the image of the grotesque cephalopod that made up the word "Yurigardner." To him, the sight of that slightly disturbing, irritatingly blithe commercial logo was preferable to that of the misshapen lump of cells that once comprised his friend's body. The mourner's names were multitudinous. To his customers, he was Anselm DuReighner. To casual strangers, Winsleybarrow Popov. To merchants, Jakal !T CarustV. To the government, Hemoporphyria Koenig. To his creditors, Isidore Barbirolli. To those pretendants to blood-relation, Quiste Occidet. But to those he dared consider friends, he was simply "Innocentus." It was not his true name (he was not the suicidal sort,) but it was, by virtue of being a play on his surname's etymology, a sincere appellation. He had never been an agreeable sort to the "typical" world. Alternately a philanthropist and a mountebank, a crusader and a rabble-rouser, respectable society slept easier for knowing of his exile. Now, as for the past decade-and-a-half, he wandered the streets of Roshertown dispensing weaponry, curative nano-swarms (which he dubbed archaically "ointments,") and psychic powders. Only some of them worked as advertised, he couldn't afford to be completely honest, but, by colony-standards, he was eminently reliable. He felt no ill-will towards the rampant android o'war, in fact he nearly admired it, but he dearly wished not to lose his friends, nor his own life. If he met his end soon, none could say he had cowered.

Just a friendly remind that you still need to do this. You too for recording your lines McJobless. Anyone who has not done their parts (see list of shame) at the end of the week, I will be putting up for grabs. I'm sorry but this dragging has been going on for far too long. If you need a week extension and know you will be able to do it, do say so. Fret not though, if/whenever you are ready to actually be serious and can do a recording, you can come back to challenge the person doing your previously claimed part at any time if you think you can do a better job. In other departments, does anyone want to help me with modifying the scripts to put the voices in game? I've got Sandy Bay done, I haven't done much past that yet. It's a simple task, yet a tedious non-entertaining one.
