  8. I love how even when you do this to the game its still entirely reasonable to beat it within 3 hours once you've killed off the load times

    Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination

EDIT: HEY LEGO MESSAGE BOARD MODERATION TEAM, ELIMBIER IS ONE OF MINE. IT'S NOT PLAGIARISM, OKAY? A few years ago, I tasked myself with a writing exercise to expand on the LEGO Universe origin story, told in a dramatic and engaging narrative. It was exceedingly dark with embellished descriptions and edgy dialog. Up to now it hasn’t been published… I’d personally like to keep it that way. Excessive purple prose, said bookisms, and unrealistic diction are just a few of its infractions against the literary hobby. Thus, I buried it and eventually exhumed it a year or so later, incinerated the corpse, and built something completely different atop its remains. Hopefully this one is comically serviceable. I’m also planning to post this incrementally on the Elimbies, just to see what extent of scatological subterfuge the moderators will tolerate. I may share my results in a blog afterward. Feedback is appreciated, provided that it only reinforces my narcissistic outlook. Criticism, constructive or otherwise, will be overlooked in favor of glowing reviews by the mindless masses. New chapters will be published every Friday, and the accompanying vignettes will be posted in a separate topic in the LEGO Creations forum. Curiosities of Stunt Rally files

So I looked in Stunt Rally's resource files and there seem to be quite a few file formats uesd in the game other than wav or tga. .msc - They're very similar to msc files from Lego Racers, but a little more advanced. An example from a file called "electric ray" is shown here: [event_begin] ActionButtonTrigger< ActivationTimes = -1> [then] ParticlesEffects < FileID = 9021, Offset = {0;3;-6}, Lifetime = 1000 > [event_end] [event_begin] ProximityTrigger< ProxType = 1, Radius = 0.1, XSize = 20, YSize = 20, ZSize = 40, Centre = {-20;5;0}, Self = 0, Excluding = {} > [and] ActionButtonTrigger< ActivationTimes = -1> [then] CarParamsEffect < Acceleration = 0.01, Braking = 0.1, SideGrip = 7.0, Grip = 7.0, Steering = 0.2, MaxSpeed = 0.1, SlideAngle = 8.00, Lifetime = 3000, Self = 0 > [event_end] .mdf: Not really sure what they are, they might be some form of extra model data. They might be another form of scripting language (possibly compressed sql), but I doubt it. moto.dlp: The game's instrument library. A user called lu9 extracted this archive and used the soundfonts to create his own remix, although the video got removed. .spg: Various music files used for different environments. They most likely contain Microsoft Directmusic data. With a little decoding (and if Cyrem releases a version of his Stunt Rally Rf Tool that can put the files back into compressed archives), these files could probably be easily manipulated to drastically change aspects of the gameplay.

    Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination

It seems the bureaucratic interlopers on the Elimbiers have found the entirety of my magnum opus to be so insincere, so offensive, that they had the gall to strip it from the public forum. Publishing my work on the Elimbies was an act of charity; a sanctuary from the standard OC-centric bollocks people in their ignorance call art. I only sought to provide the denizens of the Elimbies an escape from their repressive society, an optimistic ideal for them aspire toward. Prior to this, individual posts have been singled out for scrutiny due to allegations of offensive content such as implicit homicide and allusions to intoxication, which I reluctantly purged in compliance; such restrictions must be lifted to produce a climate of civil openness, but those reforms can wait. Now, everything I have worked for has been utterly demolished for the sake of ideological purity. The rationalization? I've not seen one. This is tantamount to a declaration of war, and I intend to retaliate with all means at my disposal. Potentially. Likely not. But you can expect a more comprehensive reprimand at some point in the future. Right...chapter 9 is up. Ahoy, mega-blokkers.

    IXS Version Differences

Here's the files that are different between installations of the two known versions of Island Xtreme Stunts (with cd and cdc folders copied over from the discs). The one on the left is the one that usually gives people the most trouble - it doesn't work with the no CD trick, if you can even get it to run at all (I can't). The version number is displayed very briefly in the top bar of the window for the game that can be seen before it goes fullscreen... Sometimes so briefly you don't see it at all. I got fed up with trying to get a screenshot, so here's a screencap from a hypercam recording, lol: As said, I can't get the other version to run at all, so I can't check what its version number is. I know people have talked about it before and posted what it is, but I can't find the discussion now... Anyway, besides the changes to the game's exe (and unimportant things like FindDisc, Uninst.exe, and support stuff) there's no differences except for those three files being moved from cdc to cd and somehow becoming much larger. Edit: Xiron says the other version is also 0.43, though I'd heard previously that it was something else. Can't check into it myself, so yeah.

I don't have any comics ready, and I don't feel like going all out insane on making one, so have some renders this weekend instead!
