Ever wanted to walk on the tracks without penalty? Well now you can! What I did was change the collision type of the railroad. I have two different types in here, one where you don't get picked up no matter what, and the other you get picked up if the train is around while you are on the tracks. http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/382 Yes you can drive on the rails now. Goes in \_data\z02LGI\col\ folder. Learning notes (and a self reminder): Wanna know how I did this? Then I'll tell you. Starting from offset 85578 (I don't believe there is anything important beyond there and if so I didn't want to mess it up) I backwards search&replaced all instances of "23 00 00 00 09" with "23 00 00 00 01" Why? Take a look at this image. See a pattern? Yes, the pattern is CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC 23 00 00 00 XX 00 00 00, where XX is the collision type. And that's all there is to the collisions, yep! I tried replacing the grass with railroad to see if anything would happen. Oddly, aside from the sound change, nothing did for the most part. The only time the station master would come after me is when I was in a certain radius from the tracks. And yes changes did happen correctly Cheat Engine references me what surface type I'm standing on. Here is the full surface type value list: 00 - Grass 01 - Road 02 - Silent Surface 1 03 - Sand 04 - Rock 05- Silent Surface 2 06 - Gravel 07 - Plastic 08 - Bridge 09 - Railroad 0A- Railroad/Road Crossing 0B and everything after is silence.6 points -

Curiosities of Stunt Rally files

So I looked in Stunt Rally's resource files and there seem to be quite a few file formats uesd in the game other than wav or tga. .msc - They're very similar to msc files from Lego Racers, but a little more advanced. They might be another form of scripting language (possibly compressed sql), but I doubt it. moto.dlp: The game's instrument library. A user called lu9 extracted this archive and used the soundfonts to create his own remix, although the video got removed. .spg: Various music files used for different environments. They most likely contain Microsoft Directmusic data. With a little decoding (and if Cyrem releases a version of his Stunt Rally Rf Tool that can put the files back into compressed archives), these files could probably be easily manipulated to drastically change aspects of the gameplay.1 point -

I believe that is hardcoded (value for the main island being 00FFFF - or FFFF00 if reversed) and that I changed that once before. The overlay clouds and such texture for the skydome on the main island is text005 though. Lucky for you I found one single image of me changing it on Castle Island over in LI2's photos folder. The sky color value - where it is currently purple, is normally FF9966, but here it is 462A4C. So yeah, totally possible if you have the know-how. I should go fishing for the exact spots and then someone can make a little sky colour changing app, how's that sound? Edit: First hit, Castle Island sky is at D940A in the .exe! Edit 2: Main Island is at 4E0D7!1 point -

Various Rock Raiders models in LDD

Hey everyone! So, this is officially my first topic on this forum. Ha, ha. Like many before me, I have tried to recreate several non-commercial models from the Rock Raiders franchise (in-game models, alternate models etc.). I'll be updating this topic with new models for the foreseeable future. The first model to make the list is an unnamed vehicle driven by Axle (and Docs) in one cut-scene, right before it plummets into a bottomless pit. I have always loved the design a vowed to recreate it one day. That vow took fruition two days ago, when I spent hours pausing the low-res cut-scene every other second to see the model at various angles. All-in-all, after giving the model two hours of my precious life, I have managed to create a model that I'm 95% certain with. Please, feel free to point out any mistakes I might have made. The second model is the Small Mobile Laser Cutter. It was based on the one in the high-res manual, not the in-game model. On this one I have spent hours, and am 100% certain of. I found this texture in z23DIP\textures (text161.tga) None of the tribal characters use these in the PC version, but one of them has a similar face in the Playstation port. It would've belonged to the tribesman whose torso is different from the islander's.1 point -

I'm speeding through LI2 on the ePSXe emulator right now. I managed to reach Adventurer's island and find the islanders. For some reason, they're all redheads... The tribeswoman's speech glitch doesn't occur until after Mr. Hate's Camp IIRC - I'll definitely post a video for that later.1 point
