The LEGO Ninjago Movie
Quisoves Potoo and 2 others reacted to lol username for a topic
I'm just so damn refreshed to see people experimenting with minifigure styles after they've gotten so homogeneous over the past decade (The LEGO Batman Movie also does this and I love it). These still technically stick with the established guidelines for the modern style, but expand on it and give the characters a lot more individual personality... Which is especially nice when the original designs for the ninja were so formulaic and similar to each other, usually just with main colors and symbols swapped. The only thing about these I'm not so sure on is Kai's hilariously poofy hair. I like everything else though. Zane's hair piece looks like it'd be great for a more game-accurate Dash minifigure if it were in brown - which is funny as the older hair piece previously used by Zane (and Dash) was based on Dash's game design (For those who don't know: The Alpha Team game came before the sets and the characters were designed by the game devs; the physical minifigs were adaptions of the game designs.) (Edit a few days later - updated the topic title to be more fitting)3 points -

LRR Map Expander (New language, new GUI)
MrBeingcool and one other reacted to Alcom Isst for a topic
Over 2 years ago, I developed and released a little command line app in C for increasing the size of LRR map files. A year later, I worked on a version of the software written in C#, but didn't complete it. Now, as I practice stuff during my vacation time, I've decided to complete it and release it. The software is again designed to increase the original size of LRR map files, both .map and .ol components. Release Instructions Drag all map files into the executable, select your settings, hit the big shiny expand button, and receive the expanded files in the resulting output folder. Features Ability to handle all .map files and the .ol file if they have the same names as files exported by Map Creator v0.9.10 Ability to increase the width and height of the maps by separate values Height Match, a feature ensuring that the map expansions have height values that align with the original height map. GUI with user inputs, expand button, and log.2 points -

LI2 Mod Manager
noghiri reacted to Jeff for a topic
LI2 Mod Manager is an evolution of the patcher program that I made a while ago. The purpose of this program is to make it simple to install, remove, and distribute mods for Lego Island 2 (PC). This program supports two types of mods: Patch: Modify the hex values of the game's executable file. File Replacement: Replace a game file with a modified one. Installation -1.) If you are running the game .bod/.bob-less then you must delete (or relocate) all of your unused .bod/.bob files from your _data folder. If you're not, ignore this. It still works with .bod/.bobs. 0.) Remove any mods you've previously installed manually. It might confuse the program otherwise. 1.) Download and unzip the latest version. 2.) Place the files in your Lego Island 2 installation folder so it looks like this: Creating Mods Visit this page for information on how to package mods. Compatible Mods Bi-Plane Fuel Fix - by Xiron & McJobless Download | Post | Thread HD Font - by EDlTOR Download | Thread Island Grass for Island 2 - by Xiron Download | Thread Skateboard Speed Modifier - by Xiron Download | Thread Skeleton Mod - by Terrev Download | Post | Thread Sky Mods - by Xiron Download | Post | Thread Walk on Tracks - by Xiron Download | Post | Thread (If you make a mod that is packaged for this mod manager, post a link and I'll add it to the list.) News Topics
Ben24x7 reacted to emily for a topic
Yo so this is something that's been on my mind recently, just want to throw it out there for y'all to consider. Do we really need a separate Lego news forum? For bigger communities a dedicated news section makes sense, but we're pretty small and it isn't like there're a ton of new things flying in to report on all the time. And you see how the news topics end up working anyway - they're just megathreads for discussing different Lego stuff. I feel like it could all be pretty seamlessly merged with Lego General Discussion and even maybe foster a less formal atmosphere where more people feel cool tossing in stuff they find. And that was the thing that I thought. It's not like the current setup is broken or anything, so its certainly not a pressing concern, but there you go.1 point -

Time for posting new creations, abominations or abomicrations: The picture description: Remember the RRU thread about the upcoming BrickHeadz series from LEGO and all the ideas, that people were posting (and probably still do)? Then let me introduce you to the totally unexpected and super creative Budgetheadz series! (If you find out the secret behind the title your head may explode!). With an amazing array of TWENTY pieces you can witness, how your dreams will break apart and it will make you wonder, what you have done wrong in your life! Explore the vast depths of empty space inside the eyes of the Rock Raider, but don't you worry: the figure already arrives dead on the inside, when you open the DAMAGED-CARDBOARD-CONTAINMENT-UNIT (DCCU) TM ! Budgetheadz - Your choice when buying another door stopper as a present is just too much excitement! Backstory: Today I thought about doing another LDD project and came up with the idea of making a tiny BrickHeadz. Personally I am not really convinced by the result, but for 20 pieces it's probably okay (-ish?).1 point -
