As a kid I just had fun with it. Didn't try to beat missions as efficiently as possible, spent a lot of time exploring, often directly controlling raiders and vehicles. That's still how I play it when I occasionally boot it up, actually...2 points -

Heh. Funny how the pine trees look like the ones in LU, too. Not implicating anything by pointing that out, I just find it amusing.2 points -

I modified the tile colours in the picture using photo editing software (specifically GIMP), in order to make it easier to tell which building occupies what squares.1 point -

That's a very efficient base design! I don't often build small bases, since I prefer to give my Raiders more room to move around. Your design is pretty cool, though; I'll try to implement it the next time I play! Also, how did you get the tiles to show up colored like that?1 point -

When base building, I used to build the exact same base design every time (unless the cave was too small to accommodate it); Place a Power Path at the front of the Tool Store, attach a Teleport Pad on one side, a Power Station on the other, place TWO additional Power Paths beside them and place a Support Station on the left and an Upgrade Station on the right. Basically, something like this: Then I'd teleport down some Transport Trucks and Small Diggers, upgrade them fully, and make the level absurdly easy. The only reason I got into this build pattern was because I used to play Lava Laughter a lot... ...Seriously, A LOT.1 point -

That is a seriously impressive commitment. I've never been able to beat Rock Raiders and I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to. I'll likely refer to this when I begin planning the adaptation of the game.1 point -

They forgot to mention/show the million-or-so "Obby" courses, "Who killed ________" courses, "________ Tycoon" levels and "Survive the disasters" maps that plague the site, so naturally I'm claiming this trailer is ONE BIG LIE.1 point -
Laser Non-Draining Glitch?
Lair reacted to aidenpons for a topic
Wrong glitch It is possible that the WeaponTypes does contain DischargeRate 0 , but that's unlikely given you're not running any mods. Very odd.1 point -

Looks even better! By the way, I'd like to try my hand at writing. So if there's anything you might want help with, let me know! I'd be honored to have a part in such a project as this.1 point -

Updated version of the cover. Honestly, I'd like to be able to produce a cleaner looking cover, but I honestly can't find hi-rez versions of either the crystal or of the rock raiders logo.1 point -

find the Lazer { entry in the cfg and add DischargeRate 0.0 to it to fix the drain glitch. it's supposed to take that lack of discharge rate as meaning no discharge but on newer OS it takes it as infinite discharge. press space to show health bars1 point -

I am sharing these builds using WebGL, a fairly new Javascript API. I would be surprised if it worked on Windows XP. I can deploy a native windows version with the next update, however, I don't have access to a windows XP machine to confirm if it would work. WebGL test: https://get.webgl.org1 point -

Update! First-pass on blocking out the UI. Also, you can build PowerPath! You can start and stop building PowerPath as well as dig up a completed piece of path. Game Link1 point -
