    LEGO Island Size Comparison

And now for the GBC map, because we might as well be as comprehensive here as possible. This still leaves the LI2 PS1 map out, but given how close it is to the PC version it's no big deal. I pieced Aparkee's GBC map pieces together, and they worked for the most part, aside from some inconsistencies at transitions between loaded areas, and one chunk that just slightly overlapped with another. I also included the space port and just slapped it into a corner, as it's part of the main island but its location relative to everything else isn't given. It's a shame we don't have a complete version of the GBC map, but going by the inconsistencies and NPCs blocking off a road near the bank, I'm not sure the devs even made one... Oh, and there's also the problem that the GBC maps are inconsistent on how many pixels there are per LEGO unit... Sometimes it's 4, sometimes it's 8. And the minifigs are somewhere in between. So, I just put the map in twice, at both scales: Oh, and here's Aparkee's GBC map pieces assembled as seen there.

    LEGO Island Size Comparison

Earlier today I imported the original LEGO Island model into a LEGO game project of mine to test something and noticed that despite it being scaled accurately, it felt a lot smaller with a third person camera. So I imported the LI2 island model to compare, then a rip of the IXS island from Xiron, all scaled to match each other, to see just how much the island had grown between games... Images under the spoiler. Bonus: LEGO Island(s) vs Nexus Tower in LEGO Universe. First, read this if you haven't already. Now prepare yourself: See also: Pics of LEGO Island combined with its full racetrack: Todo: Figure out how big these islands would be if built with real bricks...

Converting the race tracks to different games

Good day! I am URV, an active member of the Re-Volt community. Recently, I've been getting increasingly enticed by the possibility of creating custom content for the game, and one of the ideas I've had in my mind for years is to convert various race tracks and vehicles from the LEGO Racers series. Converting content from other old games is certainly plausible. One person, for example, has recently converted two tracks from old Nintendo 64 games — one from Mario Kart 64, and the other from Penny Racers. If you are interested in seeing what they look like in Re-Volt, they're covered in this video. In any case, what I would like to know before I do any research is whether it would be possible to extract the race track models and textures from LEGO Racers, either from the PC version or its N64 counterpart, and what would be the best way to go about it. Any ideas?

    LEGO Island Size Comparison

No doubt. Imagine how amazing IXS would have felt as a child if the space was used like it was in LI2 GBA. Silicon Dreams seems to have had a problem with that. I remember looking at the LI2 map from the Information Center and thinking about how there just wasn't anything there.

    LEGO Island Size Comparison

The same dev who uploaded the early IXS map also uploaded the entire LI2 GBA map (full resolution). Just by looking at it, I always thought it was huge - there's so much more stuff everywhere, so many more buildings, and having it fill your entire screen when viewing at actual size certainly makes it feel big. The only quirk about is it is that it cuts off Space Mountain, when that part of the game comes you just pass through a small tunnel, it loads another area where you get your spacesuit, and then you're sent straight into the asteroid belt subgame. But is it as big as it looks at a glance? The scale is very self-consistent, 8 pixels to a LEGO unit, so getting it precisely lined up with the 3D models was easy... Yeah, all this makes it really clear that how big a world feels doesn't come down just to the size, but mostly other things like how well that space is used and the perspective/camera.

    Xarton, the Crusher

Once Xarton was the Protector of Okoto's Earth region, but during Makuta's uprising he fell victim to the temptation of power that was promised when he aligned himself with Makuta. Makuta used his dark powers to transform Xarton into a stronger being with massive claws and impervious armor. Xarton was sent by Makuta to seek out Lothar, the ancient guardian of the Earth region, and retrieve him for Makuta to corrupt, but he was never heard from again after he descended into the caverns of Okoto. What are you listening to right now?

@Red60 I remember this song! I used to listen to it WAY back when it first came out. This and Cutt Off.

Never underestimate the racetrack. This is just an approximate as we don't know the exact scale of that early map, but it's fairly close: (For those who haven't seen it before: the early IXS map, and the full resolution)

    Removed Desert Adventure Dragway shortcut

Watch out for The Brickster! He can trick you. But the point is that there is an inaccessible green brick below the current shortcut area. Thus, we can assume that the track used to be different so that brick could be collected.
