The first time I came very close to beating rocket racer for the first time ever, whilst playing on my n64, he got stuck in this endless warp, and I was mad.

This happens when the AI breaks with using a teleport brick. I've gotten two AI to be in endless teleport loops on that track without cheats... ... of course, with cheats is another matter - using all bricks are green and all bricks at max level will result in a very large amount of racers doing this. The fun part is when you try to beat them with cheats on as usual and minimising the "downtime" between teleports.
