    Modding BIONICLE: The Game

    Doing some thread necromancy here. I have been researching the file formats used in this game for a while now, and I have made some significant progress in terms of mods. Specifically for the PS2 port. The first in-depth modification I did restored the unique unused HUD energy bars for each of the Toa: And more recently after learning the model format, I managed to successfully swap Lewa Mata's model from the extras menu over Lewa Nuva!:

    Mighty Miners

    Version 1.3, which includes all 34 levels planned for the final game, is out now! You can get it here: https://www.patreon.com/file?h=29486822&i=4354557. It has 25 missions to complete, just like the original Rock Raiders, but as you clear levels, you will also unlock "bonus" levels playable in excavation and mission modes. Many of these bonus levels are "retro" levels paying a bit more direct homage to levels in the original game. Because you can't actually unlock every level from a fresh save yet, I've included a little "cheat code": holding down Left Shift while starting a new game will give you a free 100% clear file with every level beaten and five fully-trained miners to start with. My next priority is drawing up a new set of textures, to make the game a bit more readable.

    Time Raiders

    When it comes to vehicles not teleporting down due to doing so would make them go over the limit of -10 on OxygenCoef, I realised that there's a workaround. Firstly, reduce all OxygenCoef's by a factor of 10 - so 1 Time Raider now only uses 0.1 OxygenCoef, and buildings or whatever only chew up 0.2 or whatever. Then, increase all OxygenRate's by a factor of ten - so Rocky Horror's 40 becomes 400 (that was the only number I could remember off the top of my head!) This means that oxygen drains at the same rate it would otherwise, but now reaching the count of -10 whereby things will no longer teleport down becomes much harder - 10 times harder, in fact - to achieve. You could also do the same with 100x but I'm not sure how much LRR would like that.
