Cyrem
Well I was happier then freshly baked hot seasoned chips, when I bought this game($89.00) and couldn't wait to get home and play it. [rant] That was... until I played it. If I was to some up the changes from SupCom 1 to SupCom 2 in under 10 words it would be: "supreme fail on an epic scale". All the waiting... wasted. Firstly, the game installs through Steam, which means you can't install it unless you have Steam, that's not really a problem for me but for people without internet, it's impossible to play it. It also means modding in the game is pretty much limited to: nothing. I wish I had played the demo before buying the game because I wouldn't have bought it. In SupCom 2 they have cut basically half of all the units and buildings and dumbed down the gameplay so that n00bs could even play it in a matter of minutes(When will companies realise: WE ARE NOT ALL DUMB PEOPLE WHO STRUGGLE TO LOOK FOR THE POWER BUTTON ON THE PC!!!!). The simplicity is really, insulting to my intelligence. They've also given units stupid names (E.G "Rock Head") and gotten rif of Tech 1, Tech 2 Tech 3, Experimental, and replaced it with Basic, Advanced and Experimental. You now have to do this stupid unlock using research points to get extra units and buildings and there are no upgrades for the buildings. The GUI is ugly, the graphics which they said are amazing is... well... I couldn't see any difference at all. In fact, I'd go as far as saying the graphics are better in SupCom 1 then they are in SupCom 2. SupCom 2 is missing certain effects that were in SupCom 1. There are hardly any maps and the maximum is a 6 player map (SupCom 1 had 8 player). EVEN THE SAVE/LOAD IN SKIRMISH IS DISABLED SO YOU CAN'T SAVE YOUR FLIP'N GAME! (Just like RR you must play it all out). The animations are better but, who cares when they wrecked everything else. You know how EA Games wrecks everything they touch, well just imagine that, but the company did it to itself. You can only use 1 engineer to build a building (Unlimited in SupCom 1). Why did they wreck the game when they had the opportunity to take the already awesome game to new heights? Really, SupCom 1 should have been the sequel, it really out does SupCom 2 in every aspect. If they did this for the port to Xbox 360... IMMA GONNA KILL XBOX'S!! (even more then I am already) From this It also shows what we are doing here a RRU, we have an awesome RTS and theme and we know LEGO has gone on to produce utter crap afterwards. This enforces the reason to keep LRR alive, so that the good game is not forgotten about and left to be over written by this Power Miners trash. They even released a patch already to fix some of it's problems. Any you know what? The list of problems the patch created is longer then the things it fixes. And now, I will go and play SupCom 1 . [/rant] Lets hope they release an expansion/overhaul to SupCom2 to bring it back to reality before they kill themselves. How I wish I could have said something nice about this game. EDIT: After playing it a bit more, it probably isn't as bad as I've made it out to be, but it's just too easy. Within 30 minutes I was popping out the biggest units in the game and there is no resource management skill required at all. Build about 10 power generators and you are pretty much right for the rest of the game. EDIT2: I lied, looks very moddable. Yep, I can see all the textures and everything and I can save em too. I can see all the Lua code too.
Eagle98
Gosh, the tech levels are like BA, Spring. If they actually made experementals limited to kBots Land Units, might as well play BA.
RockmoddeR
BA is still cooler then. Cyrem, you should join the RRU BA team if you're looking for a sweet RTS game that takes a lot of skill to master. Believe me, I have 6.33k mins and I STILL have a lot to learn.
Addictgamer
What an epic non-EA fail. How could this have happened? Overbudget? Underbudget? Too much pizza? I don't know. But I do care. Heh, just change a bunch of lau and your good. If they didn't wreck the game too much. They probably did though... Well, some fans out there will take SupCom2, and bury it in the trash. Others will take SupCom2, and yell to the world what an epic fail it is. Some noobs will grab the game, and say that it is their favorite. All the hard-core fans will grab the game, Annihilate the cd, then produce an overhaul mod. Oh wait, I'm not a hard-core fan, noob, other fans, or fans. I'm addictgamer. So I'll just not waste my money. Hey Cyrem, if they do make an overhaul mod, or a patch that actually fixes things, tell us here.
Acmex
Meh. I spent awhile formulating a long-winded response to this. And I hit the back button on my mouse. Oops They are selling TA again. I should buy it. And the origional SupCom. Meh. NOTA is still better
RockmoddeR
It is indeed. I almost bout TA at Officemax when we went there to get print cartridges, but I looked it over and you're right: NOTA and BA pwn it. I never really looked at/researched SupCom though. Maybe it's time I did.

TheEPICtrainrider
Read books? That's no challenge! I read in HEX. The challenge is reading a book that was written around the time your great grandfather was born.
Eagle98
I think that finding one will be harder than reading it.
