When I played Rocky Horror, I had big plans. I built 2 support stations and everything else but the ore refinery (I decided it wasn't worth it with the abundance of ore). Next, I laid down a double perimeter of electric fences and power path all around. It was the biggest base I've ever built. I also teleported in and fully upgraded 4 transport trucks, 2 loader dozers, a small digger, and a chrome crusher. I then tried to teleport in another loader dozer, but it didn't teleport right away, so I turned off the power to the super teleport, and turned it back on.

The loader dozer teleported, but it must have caused a short in the power grid-as 2-3 of my buildings lost power, even with my abundance of energy crystals. I frantically teleported out half of my rock raiders and tried to build a new support station, which my rock raiders didn't feel like completing or even obeying my order to cancel it, so I built a third support station, which thankfully completed. Just to see if it would work, I rebuilt a support station in the same spot as the original, but when it was built, it showed it had no power. At this point, I gave up on building a huge army, and focused on completing the mission. I'm not sure why it happened, but it doesn't look like others have had the same issue.

It was a fun and fairly easy mission, with my biggest problem being internal, rather than external. Not a single slimy slug appeared throughout the mission, but I wonder if they had something to do with it underneath my base.

It's called "Power Surge". If you have too many buildings or paths, something screws up in your power system. A very annoying glitch.

And no, the slimey slugs were left out of Rocky Horror. They were kind of a WIP during level development and were last-minute things to the 2 levels and tuto mission they DO appear in.

Could it be a feature? Because the same thing will happen in real life. You can't rely on one power station to power everything or else it will become overloaded and burnout and electricity doesn't have an unlimited distance. However If this still occurs despite have two stations on each end of the path, then it would be a gllitch as it should have more than sufficient power.

I have not tested this, in fact I've never built so many paths to ever lose my power.

My apoligies for bringing up such an old topic, However do we have any more information on this power surge glitch?

I've seen it here in these vids:

This has happened to me twice in Rocky Horror while building HQ (as chief commands) "A fordable Outpost"....

The first time I had no more then 15 Buildings, mainly SS's and A few Upgrade Stations. This was with 2 power stations, however the same thing happened. I was unable to cure this by building another, as air timed me out, or bats prevented building (on the second attempt). I've cured both these issues since, and have beat the level and what not, however I"m wondering if this can be fixed?

Well, I have not encountered this problem again, very strange it is.

Regardless, if I may update this topic with some related info....

My most recent Biggest Base was built while strip Minning Back to Basics, (with slugs mostly disabled xD)

Back to Basics:

3 Upgraded Granite Grinders

3 Upgraded Chrome Crushers

6 Upgraded Loader Dozers

6 Upgraded Small Transport Trucks

1 Tunnel Scout

4 Suport Stations

2 Power Stations

2 Upgrade Stations

1 Super Teleport

1 Teleport Pad

1 Toolstore

1 Geological Center

1 Ore Refinery

(All Buildings fully Upgraded)

Total Ore Count:1992 (+ 10-14 on the Crystal Island)

EC Count:44 (+ 110+ on the Ground Uncollected, not counting ones on the Island)

I edited the config to disable slugs ability to drain power, among a few other things, so other then the audible warnings, slugs where no issue.

Anything Bigger?
