Alexei403
So I go to install LRR a little bit ago. The autorun will not pop up. I go into "My Computer" and click on the Autorun.exe. Still won't pop up. So I go into the CD and click on Setup.exe directly. It appears to think about it for a minute, but nothing happens. (setup.exe IS shown in the CTRL+ALT+DEL Task Manager Processes window, but doesn't appear to be doing much of anything but eating up memory) Using Windows XP Professional SP3. I attempted running the CD with the Program Compatibility Wizard with every combination of the available choices (256 colors, 640x480 resolution, and the other one...) with no success. I have attempted to use the Compatability Administrator thing linked on another part of the forum, but it appears that that requires the game to first be installed. I am at a loss as to what to do now...
Cyrem
Do you have another computer in the house? Because if you do you could try to install it on that one, then copy the folder that the game is installed to and move that over to your computer then play it. I wish you could see my face right now, because I am stunned as to why I didn't think of doing this before. Used this same technique to get Assassin's Creed onto my desktop from my laptop, so no reason I can't do it for LRR from my desktop to my laptop. ; I'll report back as to whether or not it worked or if it created another problem. Haha glad it helped . I also would recommend you create a new installer, perhaps with innosetup and burn it to a disc or store it somewhere so you don't have this problem again. Alexei403
So I copied the files okay and then ran into another problem... "No game disk found. Please insert a disk into drive and try again." Heh...whoops. That might help a bit. Went and retrieved my game disk and everything works perfectly! :D

Addictgamer
Great it is resolved. I never needed my disk to play, why do you?
Alexei403
Great it is resolved. I never needed my disk to play, why do you? Dunno, but if it works I won't complain. Could be something about how I copied my folder over instead of installing directly onto this laptop, though.
Matt
Great it is resolved. I never needed my disk to play, why do you? Dunno, but if it works I won't complain. Could be something about how I copied my folder over instead of installing directly onto this laptop, though. I think it could be to do with the version of the disk. I also have never been able to play without the disk, and I have the original '99 version release, so I'm guessing maybe you do as well Alex? If you have a later release Addict, it would seem that it just a feature of the later versions.
Cirevam
I made a physical copy of my '99 disk, installed it from that copy, and can play without the disk. Unless it didn't copy the CD detection thing I don't think it has to do with the version.
