My Flash Work

Since Cyrem seemed so keen on having a topic in this section ;)

[For the record: these are SWF files which I compiled into .exe's, so I didn't need to send the player files along]

A small description about each of them:

  • tankbuster
  • my first game. At the time I had a website called "fiveminute games". Hence the name. You can probably still find it hanging around somewhere in google sites. I might edit this post with a link, if I miagae to find it again :P
  • tower defence
  • a project that never got finished, because of.. guess what... time! it is also really unbalanced, but sitll fun to waste 2 or 3 minutes on
  • ANN (or Artificial Neural Network
  • A neural network simulator I am working on. Its core library is also used in the next entry (see below). At least you can build a neural network with it, and it has a start on the part of the simulation, but it is far from finished. Have a try, I would say! :)
Since you guys probably never heard of this:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_neural_networks
    Or a description for dummies:
basically a program that can simulate virtual brain cells
  • netbattle
  • And last, but not least, my netBattle project. I only included a screenshot, since the game itself is unplayable at this stage, and installs as an application. But I will post it here when it is getting closer to finish. As you can see from the screen it is a strategical board game, with units attacking each other (BIG NOTE: 30x30 pixel art unit icons are VERY much appreciated!! :D). When Adobe Air 2.0 comes out, I will be able to integrate some online playing capabilities as well, IF I have the time of course :P

At least you have an idea of what I have done, and that I am terrible at finishing programming projects.

Although I guess that is normal for these kind of things...

Have fun!

Alright, feedback time.

TowerDefense: About 75 % of the time, the towers target the last creep and won't fire on any others, keeping me from winning the second wave.

TankBuster: Looks very cool. If I could play it, I can't click on the "Play >" thing.

Plane: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. A crosshair and a blank field.

Neuron-thingey: A menu keeps flashing on and off at what seems to be my screen's refresh rate, and It won't do anything.

Chances are, flash player's to blame. Which one do you use? You can get a standalone executable from adobe's site (for linux too)

Adobe's fails.

I have to use swfdec because Adobe's isn't built for linux x64 and the package installer won't install anything not for my architecture.

feedback on feedback time ;)

Tower defence: you should look at the code I am using to make the tower select what creep it attacks. It is extremely basic, so no doubt it fails now and then :P

About tank buster: yeah.. I should have made some kind of "hit area" on that button, but for some reason I have never done it

Plane: it probably didn't manage to import the DAE file. At least it was the core "shadow" from BA, converted into a DAE (collada) file.

Neuron thingie: that sounds odd. Perhaps it could be the flash player being the problem?

I got some programs that run on a calculator as well. You can find them on my old dusty webpage ;)

Note the dusty part: I haven't touched it in almost 2 years now.
