The Passing on L4D2

I just watched a vid of it, and turns out, L4D2 and L4D characters meet up.

Now, why is it called The Passing?

Now, also in that vid, it also turns out that bill sacrificed himself for everyone else.

The LFD1 and LFD2 really don't meet up, but more or less pass each other.

Bill's voice actor was to busy with his radio show to do the lines. Their only choice was to have him die, rather then upset the fan-base with a new voice. Bill's death wasn't far from reality (he's old and he smokes, and then again there's the apocalypse).
