Another Problem With Running Rr

Well, not long ago I found my old copy of LRR and today I tried to install it.

As I was expecting, it didn't run. First I had the d3drm.dll error, but then I "fixed" it thanks to this forum. However, instead of the dll error, now I just have an error that says "LegoRR.exe has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." Here's the "problem details section":

I've tried pretty much almost everything people suggested on this forum concerning any LRR errors, and in vain. (that's including the Microsoft Compatibility Administrator, although it couldn't recognize LRR exe for some reason). I think the problem is with video card or something, since the dll mentioned in the error is related to the video card. Also, I should mention that the copy of the game is not English.

Thanks in advance for all help!

Computer specs would be useful and what OS you're using.

Also, play around with the options in clglen.exe

I've had a similar problem before.

it could have something to do with the fact that your on a 64bit machine. there are a lot of problems when trying to run 32bit games on 64bit machines.

I get no problems running RR on this 64 bit machine. At all.

Not even the bugs that happen on my 32 bit machine.

Anyway, I think it has to do with the graphics card.

Please try my suggestion with playing around with CLGLEN and see if you can make RR work.

Same here. Just mess around with shortcut parameters and stuff if necessary.

Can't believe I forgot to mention that.

OS: Vista x64

Specs: Video: ATI Radeon HD 3400

CPU: Intel Q8200 2.33GHz

RAM: 4 GB (idr the model exactly)

And I'm not going to list sound card and etc.

I tried changing stuff in CLGLEN, but there's not much to change, since the only thing they offer me to do is to select the type of the video card (and there are only three options: Default, Voodoo2, and Savage3D). And also I tried changing everything in the parameters when you start the LegoRR.exe.

Oh, and, I looked into CLGen.dat file, and I think it only changes some values in the registry. And when I followed those values that it's supposed to change (if you open CLGen.dat with Notepad, you'd easily find ACTION|WRITEKEY|HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders\StandardParameters), there was no key like that in the registry at all - so changing anything in CLGLEN for me wouldn't do anything at all.

Yes, that and video card, perhaps.

Well.. the only other thing I could try now is to install the game on my other x32 machine and play there. But thanks for help anyway!

Changing stuff in CLGlen.exe does do stuff.

It changes the graphics driver or whatever that LRR uses.

Did you actually try running all of those options?
