I was wondering how to install Lego Rock Raiders manually on my computer (I have the disc). Since for some reason autorun and the setup aren't working. Thank you!

This is a bit of a hard one.

While the game executable can be copied over, I'm pretty sure the actual game data is in CAB files which can only be opened by the installer. Have you tried running the installer in compatibility mode? Try to copy the disc onto your computer and if an error occurs during that process, most likely your disc is damaged.

What operating system are you running?

Read the topic title. He says Windows 7. Now, I installed LRR on my brother's Win7 netbook without any compatibility stuff or anything and it worked. We may need more details but I don't see what the problem is.

JZip (free archive manager) can open .CABs...and .RARs... and anything else I throw at it. Dump the contents of the disc onto your HD, and then open them.

Yes, admin rights fix almost anything. I can't believe you forgot this one: a missing DLL file in win7/vista(correct me if I'm wrong).

I can't believe you didn't read that the TC is having trouble INSTALLING the game, not RUNNING it. I've had problems with my 64-bit system not wanting to run some 32-bit installers and programs, but Rock Raiders doesn't seem to have that issue.

Sorry boi. Not that simple. RR needs DirectX 6 to run. Extract that and put it where it's supposed to go. I dare you to get it right. We could give him the exact folder layout and it probably still wouldent work. You can always try though. I was going to extract the cab files myself and see how they are arranged. If you'll notice the disk has a ton more stuff than the actuall install. I doubt you can put the files in the right place by yourself and have it work.

Unfortunately, no... well... it depends. You see the data files for installers like LRR are custom with encryption. You'll be hard pressed to find one that opens them. I know one or two exist, but they only worth with some game archives.

I cast Resurrection! Or Heal 5! Which ever brings something more alive. I mean, it's only a month old, right?

Just today I got my Rock Raiders to work on Windows 7 Ulitmate x64. It needed the d3drm,dll file. Before that I was dong something stupid that was like getting my old 98 computer that had RR installed on it, and try turn it into a virtual, which kind of worked, but didn't. Also made a hard copy of it for backup. So I tried installng it on my parent OS and got that "needs .dll file" error. Well I did a search for it on here and found it on my hard copy so I moved it to my System folder (cause it was on 98, figured that's how it worked) and ran it. Works perfectly but strangly the intro video doesn't play. Oh Well. :P
