If you have an RCX, have the RCX send out infrared beams of light, and program it so when the light sensor detects a high addition to light values it fires the gun. The result? The RCX sends out a beam, and when it hits an object, it bounces back and hits the light sensor. It detects this, and fires the gun. I've tried it myself, it works perfectly. ...
