lol username
I think I'll just link to the download I put up, which explains it. http://www.rockraidersunited.org/index.php?/files/file/181-weird-music-file/ Can anybody here figure out what format it's in? It's not MP3 like the rest of the ones extracted.
Sonic322
There seems to be a problem when I try to play it. Namely it say that it isn't a real .MP3 file and won't work. So did you change the file extension so you could upload it because if so then please put a copy of the original file in a .ZIP folder and put that on RRU so we can test it. Cirevam
I can't tell what format it might be. I tried opening it in every audio program I have, and I looked at it in a hex editor. No leads, except that it doesn't seem to have the header that a proper mp3 file has.
aLPHA
Lol, winamp spazzes out It looks like some sort of sequence. It doesn't match a midi sequence though.

Anonymouse
The word "surround" makes me think it probably just has more channels than a normal MP3. I'm not sure though, I'll see what I can find out.
TheDoctor
daniel@daniel-FK476AAR-ABA-a6600z:~/Downloads$ file lumusic.mp3 lumusic.mp3: MPEG ADTS, layer II, v1, 160 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo That's what I got. I'll see if Audacity can do anything with it. Edit: looks like ADTS is a pain in the butt for everyone. I've slowed it down, but its really choppy and cuts off. It's actually only 1 second long. lol username
Well, it sounds nothing like the in-game music and is two seconds long now, but it's progress I guess... :P
TheDoctor
Imma say it didn't extract right or something. I really could care less though. If you could try to extract it again and then compare the md5's, that would be great.
aLPHA
Maybe it's a file that tells that game how to use the other files in a way to make it surround?

Should I add you to the list of people who claim to read posts but actually don't or are you just messing with us? In any case, I think the file itself is just damaged. That, or it uses some strange, forgotten header format. In any case, it doesn't work right.
aLPHA
And we cannot come up with creative ideas or else we will risk getting our heads bitten off by somebody who likes things being his way, and won't accept any other ideas.

Except I didn't do any more research after opening and playing it in audacity. Should've googled ADTS...
