I like how we're addicted to this game. I wonder what keeps you guys attached to this game. for me it's just cause of the drilling and the wacky things that happen when I play

I guess it's because I get to mine, build up a base...It was one of my first games...The first being very rare in games. In fact, only minecraft, RPGWO, DF, and LRR have it as far as I know.

Really? I think every other RTS has some form of 'mining' and base building. Age of Empires, etc.

Mining? Oh no. It's point and right click on rock or gold piles. That isn't what I consider mining.

Well, it's what the majority of gamers consider mining :-P I understand what you're saying, that 'mining' in LRR is actually mining by means of drilling walls. You can't deny the similarities, though - point and click on a rock wall to collapse it and then on the rubble to get resources.

Its probably that I love legos and video games :D

This.

Also: I've always found LRR to be relatively simple compared to most games out there and yet was still challenging at the same time. Doesn't require me to memorize 30 different key functions or take 2 8-week training courses to get good at it, and yet it was still fun. If it worked on this machine I'd still be playing it today. :)

It's the moddabillity of this game that keeps me here...even though I started elsewhere...this game has something special about it when I mod it...

Fluffy Cupcake

Eh, I'm not really addicted RRs. The last time I practically played it was when I joined the site.

I've already beat the game, and I haven't played a full level since I started modding. Only time I start the game is when I need to test something, and usually only takes a few minutes. Once TR or RtPU is released, I'll definitely be playing again since it will be new(er) and contain mystery just like LRR did when I first played it.

I've been playing Baz's Mod latley. It's fun. Not played a lot, but still. Since TheShadowOfX claims it's too hard for him to continue I may to a walkthrough of my own. I've beaten the whole original game too.

As far as the original game goes, the hardest part was beating the level and saving before the game crashed. The second most difficult part would be getting a support station up and running before O2 ran out (if applicable), but other than that, there wasn't really any difficulty beating the levels. Baz's mod, however, sounds like it'd be much more of a challenge, especially when one of the levels was impossible to win.

I've recently found my really old disk and it manages to work. I'm going thru the game again, although I forgot to save before it crashed. I dont remember the ending so thats really why I'm playing it. Also I'd like to give one of the modded games a go, once it becomes more stable.

I have never given it much thought as to why I like the game, and I haven't played it in quite some time.

I think LRR is just one of those unique game that only comes around every so often, and when you think about it then its funny how this one game has made such an impact on people that theres a site dedicated to modding it.
