McJobless
I'm wondering, is it outside the realms of possibility to have a system where certain in-game actions can earn achievements like Xbox 360 games or Steam games, and have a list which reports the status of unlocked achievements? SKN could really use it...
Cyrem
If you could somehow combine the use of NPL scripting with the message system, but then I don't know how you could record the achievements outside the game. Perhaps setting the no. of ore to a variable, then set it to a large amount of ore(the amount would relate to a specific award) then have an application in the background watching the game's memory to find the change of ore so then it can note the achievement to file. After like a second has past you could have the ore set back to it's original value since this process should be instant.... provided the memory hacker is detecting changes quickly. You could then use this same application in the background to switch around level BMP's (on the level select screen) to reflect that you achieved something in that level. But unfortunately you would have to restart the game to see the changes in level select. So is it easy to do, no. Is it possible? yes, but it's a bit of a dodge job to get something like this to work.
Cirevam
On top of that, there's not much of a point to achievements in this game. You mine crystals and ore, kill monsters in an extremely simple combat system, and build things. The only achievements that are possible are things like "Collect 1,000,000 total Ore" or "kill a monster with a Pusher Beam", which can be cheated via mods. You're better off making it possible to 100% every level and adding a special ending. That's a real achievement.

Aki Dazrold
I assume that meant "comeuppance".
Amauros
WHERES MY COMEUPINS? You're comeuppance sir: Ok that may be a bit harsher than what I wanted to say... but I really think this idea isn't quite worth the effort...
