karsten
Rock raiders not finished I found alot of data that concludes that lrr is not finished the version of the game is V.0.121 that is even fare from beta. when the 1e release is there it is V.1.000 Also there is in de lego.cfg file with the text "settings fore the final version"but there are no settings there besides music on or of.Fore a final version you have alot more options in the conifg fille. Also snakes and scorpions are not enabled. Also i found a avatar about a building called snack bar. And that building is not in the game yet. I also hearded that the game engine lrr using was not eaven finished. I think the develepors did not have engough time or Lego media or DDI did not have enough money to finish the project (that's how the developers called it) "just a project" sorry fore my bad english i'm dutch last time i was active was on the old forums when rru just started. STUDZ
Hmm, This is all very interesting... Of course, I haven't been able to play the PC version yet, but that's still pretty cool. Most of the early LEGO games had some things that had to be taken out for the final version (like some shortcuts in LEGO Racers, the hidden Adventurers area in LEGO Island 2, and a whole sequel to LEGO Island that was never made!). I'm glad that LEGO does this. It gives us something to think about and add to. Although I would like some of those things to actually be made into the games... McJobless
Firstly, welcome to the new forums. Rock raiders not finished I found alot of data that concludes that lrr is not finished the version of the game is V.0.121 that is eaven fare from beta. when the 1e release is there it is V.1.000 Recently a developer (By the name of Karl) came and has explained to us that number isn't exactly what you think it is. The '0' means wether it was PC or PS1, and the rest indicated what beta the game spawned from (I think, might need to go back and check). Also there is in de lego.cfg file with the text "settings fore the final version"but there are no settings there besides music on or of.Fore a final version you have alot more options in the conifg fille. Also snakes and scorpions are not enabled. Also i found a avatar about a building called snackbar. And that building is not in the game yet. I also hearded that the game engine lrr using was not eaven finished. I think the develepors did not have engough time or Lego media or DDI did not have enough money to finish the project (that's how the develepors called it) "just a project" Once again, this has all been explained. All this content was in at the start but the higher-ups has their way. sorry fore my bad english i'm dutch last time i was active was on the old forums when rru just started. Your doing very well. Really, the only mistakes I've seen is "Fore" is spelt "For" and "De" is spelt "The" in english. Someone else might go through and help you. Alexpanter
(5) Lego Rock Raiders Game Version. Can you tell us about the different versions of the game by any chance? (5) This is an easy one. This was simply an internal 'build number', rather than an actual game version. The 0. at the beginning refers to the platform (i.e. 0=PC, 1=PS1). The .121 was a 'beta version' number. We began at .000 for the first beta-test version, and incremented for each full build that we provided to the testers. (Obviously there were many 'tween' versions for testing specific features, but full builds were designated their own build number - something akin to subversion revision numbers used today). It simply gave the testers a build version number to tag onto a bug report.
karsten
Hi, Thx for your replies, i know it is not hard proof but why would they made textures and not put it in the game? That only takes more time (working ouhrs) and money. Besides thx fore explaning how the version number in lrr works. Karsten
Cyrem
Karsten, All games created are never finished. All games start with a large design document. As the game is developed, tweaks are made, things get cut due to limitations. As DDI was designing for LEGO, it is clear they had time constraints that had to be met. For example, the Tunnel Transport never made it to the final due to bugs and not enough time. There are a number of images that are not used in the game. However, for some of them this is because of changes. A example of a change is the canteen to the support station. The old interface wasn't actually real, as rrcoder said, it was for demo builds to show LEGO how they were progressing. That explains why there are unused things in the data folder. There is no real need to spend "working hours" and "money" investigating things that never made it to the game when you can simple ask rrcoder about these things. Storm, I see your going harsh on Karsten, take it easy on him man, you wouldnt like it if you were him, wont you? Well every Winter I get really mad for no exact reason and then everyone hates me and I don't get any presents from my friends, and, if i'm just going to be mad at everyone, then why not just ban me until you guys can actually appeal to my feelings? Storm your a real hatter just leave my topics Its not YOUR internet. Its not like the first second you get mad at someone you become the king of the universe and are able to command everyone around. Thats like killing your whole family just because you're the king. Oh, and also, if i'm a hater, why don't you just BAN ME ALREADY?
Amauros
It's not his internet, but it is his topic. You're offtopic, not just in this topic, but also in another of Karsten's topics. You're also flaming and even trolling a bit. I'm sorry if you're not having such a great life in the real world, but that doesn't give you any right to be harsh on other people (whether it's here or in the real world). Cirevam
Everyone shut up. I've suspended Storm's posting ability for a day. I don't want to see any more of this crap when he's able to post again, or there will be actual account suspensions. This is not the way to treat a new member.
