Sonic322
so what does it have to do with anything?
sciguy
Um, the energy crystal doesn't really look 3D. It looks like a paper cut-out

Anonymouse
@ anon How in the world is that high Quality? It's an actual Energy Crystal. The normal model is actually only a tiny cube with two crossed planes on it. I haven't figured out how to actually make the proper EC look right though yet. Cirevam
I can see how that crystal isn't flat. It's just so bright that whatever shading would be present is being canceled out. When messing around with lighting in Milkshape I found that turning up specular lighting to the max makes stuff look like the crystal in the picture. You have to turn it down; even making the diffuse lighting darker won't really help.
Anonymouse
Ah, so that's it! Can you do just that please? IDHAFC how to myself.
Sonic322
if this works then does this mean we can have a high quality EC in LRRs?
Shadow322
I thought of something funny! RM1: What is this crap, it tastes bad! Crystal Maker: Well you doen't need to eat it then! RM2: I doen't need to worry I eat the High Quality energy crystals, get a free sample at 1-800-Crystal!

Anonymouse
Thanks lair Cirevam, you can also find it in the World/Shared folder (crystal.lwo). I think it's in LegoRR1.wad
sciguy
Hm, you probably already did this, but did you check the transparency of the colors? Adjusting that might work
Cirevam
Why didn't I think of checking that? I guess I was too worried about seeing if the dumb thing would export. The texture seems to be embedded in the model file, so I can't do any external modding on it. Life was much easier when I was only doing things in Torque.
