Croza
Well, to cut a long story short: Are there any Python scripters out there who are bored and want something to do? Or even is there anyone out there who wants to learn Python? If the answer is yes, then why not come along and help out with RR2 - there's lots of fun for everyone! Don't want to program? No problem! You can help out with anything from texturing to testing*! So why not come along and share a joke or two at RR2. *only available while stocks last and may be subject to delays. (Sorry for the rubbish ad rippoff Basically, help would be greatly appreciated in any form but python is needed the most at the moment.)
TheDoctor
Ask mouse. He's the python guy around here. Also maybe bart.
MSSSSM
Did you look at ORR-Delta? Also, RR2 may be a bad naming, but i dunno. Also, maybe me.
Croza
Did you look at ORR-Delta? Also, RR2 may be a bad naming, but i dunno. Also, maybe me. I've looked at ORR-D, i can see that it is awesome, but i'm not aiming to edit RR at the moment, only rewrite it into python so in the future it can be edited. Perhaps in the future RR2 and ORR-D could be integrated, but for now, at least, they are separate.

Amauros
Croza, you can do whatever you want, but your project is identical to ORR-D. I understand the pride of doing your own work and feeling accomplished, but working on a team as a team means getting a project done sooner and better than you could have done alone (and I mean "you" generically ). So I'd like to suggest that you join ORR-D, but if you don't want to... at least take a look at their work (I mean ORR is open-sourced after all ). Croza
touché. If I'm wanted I'm more than happy to join and partner up with ORR-D, and it would make much more sense for us to have fewer single projects and more group projects. My only issue is when there are large numbers of programmers working together on one single thing they often get in eachother's way, but this is an issue that can be worked round. That and the fact i'd have to lean a new library for Python, which is never overly fun... (sorry for the crap response, I'm currently in the middle of nowhere and on an iPod...) Anonymouse
Well, I'm probably not going to officially join this project, though I'm always there if you have a problem - just ask me. Which library are you using for this? Because if you're using pygame you're doomed.
Croza
I'm using Panda3d for the huge majority of the engine. Pygame's too 2d for my liking :P
Anonymouse
I'm using Panda3d for the huge majority of the engine. Pygame's too 2d for my liking Well, pygame + pyopenGL can make 3D. Just that it's openGL, so there are a lot of function calls, which are expensive in python. I want to learn to use panda3d anyway, so I guess it would be useful to me, especially what with ORR Delta now being in java ().
STUDZ
Well, I'd LIKE to try and learn Python, but... I just don't have enough computer time on my hands. I'd also like to actually DO something on RRU that's LRR-related, BUT... LRR doesn't work on my computer... BLARG. Still, sign me up!

Anonymouse
wow, in my last post I forgot to actually say "I'm in" or anything of the sort. So yeah, sign me up too :P
IceHusky
Sure, I'll help. Well, as long as there aren't any set hours or anything. And if I could get an example of stuff to do in a pm or something that would be great!
