jderry
I ordered a brand new copy of LRR off of ebay, was still in the shirnk wrap and everything. I cannot get it to work on my windows XP desktop. It will install and bring up the very first screen that says "Lego Rock Raidders Version v.0.105" with the energy crystals behind it. Shortly after that pops up it comes with one of the windows error messages that asks if I would like to send error message or not. I then try it on my dad's windows 7 desktop, it installs fine. Brings up the same screen, but goes nowhere from that. Thanks for the help guys, really want to play this game.
Addictgamer
Does the disk say "XP Compatible" on it? Tried running in compatibility mode?
McJobless
Ok, well, I run XP SP3 and mine runs fine. Could you provide a list of the full stats for your computer (CPU, Operating System with Service Pack, Graphics Card etc) and any error messages you get/what happens when you run it? Cyrem
I'm actually more interested in the fact that his says it v.0.105 when I think most of us have v.0.121. If the game's CFG has the v.0.105 number in it, I wonder if there are any file differences. Is this an English version game?

No, Karl said the testing was done in-house and they worked like crazy playing through the game a day before it had to go for production trying to find bugs. Ironic considering I made a whole topic about it.
jderry
I don't have acess to my xp computer right now, rearranging a room and it's unplugged. However I got pics off of my windows 7 computer. Will upload in 5 minutes.
aLPHA
Hey...I had a masterpiece version of the game once that only ran in windows 98, and if I do remember straight, it was version 0.105. It had no music and you could name a raider at any level, you didn't have to upgrade them. I also remember that hotkeys when debug was turned on strangely did not work. This disk was backed up on a hard drive that I later accidentally fried. The disk was blown to bits by my dad's uber high-speed drive.

Haha I ordered one on PS1, I think I liked the computer version better, if only mine would play. Anyone have a copy for sale, or anything they can send. Sonic322
I have never seen that screen when I start up Rock Raiders. Strange.
aLPHA
Looks like a beta screen... Mine had the normal game screen. Why yours has that screen is unknown to me...
Lair
I... wha... That's not anything I've seen before. Edit: The shortcut for your game is odd to. It says something in ALL CAPS before the "Rock Raiders".
aLPHA
Sorry if I'm asking something that has been already answered, but have you tried compatibility mode for windows 98?
Addictgamer
Strange thing is, he tried both shortcuts, with and without compatibility, and he tried the exe directly, with and without compatibility. His RR folder looks like mine, except his exe is 1/4 the size of mine. Edited September 1, 2019 by Slimy Slug Preserving image

Cyrem
You have a registration folder... which is only in the newer copies. You bought a funky copy, that's for sure. Your exe is 274kb which is normal for the copy protected version. However your ICD file should be about 720kb not 0kb. Your ICD file is only ever 0kb if your have a the non-copy protected version the game and if you have this version, your exe will be about 720kb instead. To me, it looks like they gave you the exe that checks for your disc but didn't burn the correct icd file to the disc. So when the checking exe goes to decrypt the actual game exe, it's non-existent... resulting in the error you see.
Amauros
He has the same cd cover and insert that I do, so this is really weird that you'd have an older version of the game... Perhaps the installer is failing to extract the icd off the cd? It's definitely supposed to be around 700kb, so if you can manually copy/extract it from the cd to the installation folder, it might work.
