Where and what can I download a free program for on-screen filming that is compatible with 640x480, has little or no watermark and never expires?

The free version of Fraps films 30 or 60-second clips at a time, then you have to hit the record button again. It also has a watermark at the top of the screen. I think Hypercam is free, but it has an ugly watermark in the top left corner.

>_. well, I need something that films for at least 30 mins (if it breaks up into smaller movies that is fine). And if there is a watermark it needs to be at the top and small. And I need a WMV-AVI converter..

Fraps records in AVI. Actually, most recording tools do. If you need the output video to be a wmv, just change a few of the options when you render the video on whatever editing program you're using. If you need specific help just shoot me an email: I've plenty of video editing experience.

...Well again: I need it to film strait 30 mins, it is fine if it splits it up, and I need a converter: Turn AVI into WMV for editing then back into AVI for movie... though LRR might accept WMVs

EDIT: the F9 thing may not work in-game, unless I change my screen to 16 bit and make it windowed. Ok, anything you can press a hotkey to keep filming?

Try snagit, or windows media encoder.

Google them.

Or free screencaster

Im close to filming levels, which is the best program to use with a watermark hidable, and can have custom sized window?

Maybe just use fraps or hypercam, you're going to want to crop the video anyway (to hide the HUD), thereby removing the watermark.

Would you have to hide the HUD, or could we just replace all of the files with transparent fillers? I think that would make it look a lot better, especially since the tiny 640x480 resolution that LRR runs in will start to look bad if you zoom in too much.

Also a good idea... But how would you then control it? >_>

Just crop the video, if you don't know how or don't have a program for it just send me the unedited video and I'll do it for you :)

I'd say use Camstudio. (http://camstudio.org)

There's Prism Video Converter, by NCH software. There's a free version and a sort of "Pro" version, but the free version doesn't have a limit to how long, how big and doesn't add a watermark.

...well, i tried the firstthing i found on camtasia studio and the resolution was horrible. Also, the HUD is a problem.

And this should be moved to a rock raiders topic i think
