Game Is Installed, Crashes After Splash With "legorr.icd Not Working Properly"

Hello!

I recently found my old disc of RR in my basement. I have an old PC I could drag out to play it on, but that is a lot of effort, and I don't really have room for it.

So here is the deal.

I installed RR on my Windows 7 laptop. I got the typical fail message, looked up on here and added the D3DRM.DLL in the right place... so now when I try and start the game.... It starts the splash screen, then the whole screen goes black.... and then it says that Windows has a problem with LegoRR.icd.

Help?!

Splash Screen? More bloody publisher problems if you ask me...I need you to tell me the publisher. If it's an original copy of the game, then this might be problematic for all of us. Also, is your disk in? And are you running the game in compatibility mode for 98? Have you tried downloading the Windows Compatibility Toolkit as listed in THIS topic?

Ummm. How do I know who the publisher is?

My disk IS in and it IS running at 98 compatibility.

I did download the Windows Compatibility Toolkit, but I'm a little confused at how it works...

  1. On your disc and/or box, there should be some logos/company names. One is LEGO, one is DDI, and there should be another one. Could you please tell me?
  2. Well, that sucks.
  3. Just try all the solutions offered within the entire topic. Hopefully something there should help you.

well... I don't have the box, so the disk says LEGO media, art world, and another name that is so small I cannot read it. fail 8S

and I will look into that thread.

In your compatibility settings, turn on Run as Administrator, run in 640x480, 256 colours, disable composition and disable visual themes.

If that doesn't work and nothing else will, there is one last thing you can try... but try everything else first.

Well, that didn't work, except it stopped the error message from popping up after it crashes.... 8S

It goes to 98% and then brings up an error message saying "error in move data -113"

right?

That error sounds like a permissions problem. Try ending all but important system processes in task manager and try again... or perhaps it's trying to access files/folders that Windows is denying it access to.

If you Google that you'll see similar errors with other programs.

This morning I just started up my laptop and instead of starting up normally it said "error: Several orphaned files located, proceeding with data move." and then it started saying "moving orphaned file (random jumble of letters and numbers)" over and over and over. and then when it started up it started flashing between my screen saver and a black screen. It hasn't stopped yet *Joev holds his breath as he waits for the blue screen of death*

How do I let it finish? all it's doing is flashing between my screen saver and a black screen. What is it finishing?

Oh so it has gone through deleting orphans and finished? If it doesn't stop doing it any time soon, you are just going to have to attempt to either restart it or perform a windows repair/restore. I've never really heard of that problem.

actuallly mine just says loading.... and then it goes to an all black screen and crashes out. (and since switch to ALL the compatibility settings, I no longer get an error message.)

I already tried a repair/restore and it didn't work "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" So my laptop is screwed. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" so I'm gonna have to pay $360 to get it repaired "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" and I won't have it for about 3 weeks "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

Oh, and to add to it all, my "new" (Personally Refurbished) Desktop with Linux/Ubuntu installed on it; Tenda Wireless adapter isn't working. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

FML...

So yeah. Before I install LRR on any of my computers again, either I need a complete and total reasurence that it will work, or I need the disk-less version of the game. Could anyone perhaps give me a link to the disk-less version of the game? Thanks in advance.
