This may have been made at some point before, but I thought I'd post it just to see what people's favorites are. I didn't include Rock Raiders mainly since its technically "Underground" and it'd be a bit biased if you know what I mean ;). Also not counting LEGO Star Wars since that's a franchise and isn't true "LEGO Space."

My fav would definitely be the Space Police Sets (I and II, haven't had any of the new ones though in III). After that I'd go with futuron, M-tron, or Spyrius. Ice Planet, Roboforce, Blacktron are cool too.

If you're having trouble remembering which is which use these to refresh your memory:

Classic Space

Futuron

Blacktron I

Space Police I

M:Tron

Blacktron II

Space Police II

Unitron

Spyrius

Roboforce

Exploriens

Ice Planet 2002

UFO

Insectoids

Life On Mars

Mars Mission

Space Police III

Alien Conquest

I always liked Ice Planet and Insectoids, but I only ever had 1 or 2 sets from each theme. I had that large insectoid set, the one that had Gypsy Moth in it, and i can't find it for the life of me. :(

I did have a bunch of the Life on Mars sets, however. Those were still pretty neat, especially the mechs.

I love all of them up to Life on Mars, which I don't like quite as much, then I lost hope in LEGO Space entirely. Space Police III has some cool minifigs but I don't like it much at all. Out of the pre-LoM themes, it's a tossup between UFO and Ice Planet 2002. I never owned any Ice Planet sets until I built some from pieces I found a few years ago, but I saw some when I was a wee lad and I always wanted the Ice Sat V. As for UFO, I owned the Radon Rover, V-Wing Fighter, Cyborg Scout, and Warp Wing Fighter. My brothers had other UFO sets and we cumulatively had all of them except for the Alien Avenger. If Roboriders had more sets than that might have been my favorite theme, but I only ever owned the short orange one and it wasn't that amazing.

I used to think I only had two LEGO space related sets (the mars rover and that one rocket...).

Got on RRU, opened up this topic, looked at all the links, and then I realized my friends and I all own lots of classic space pieces. Always wondered where they originated...

I love the minifigs, the pieces, and the likes, so I finally have a favorite LEGO space theme (besides LRR ;P ).

Why did you clump LoM and MM together? They're far more different than the difference between SP and SP2 which got their own vote groups.

(besides LRR ;P ).

LRR is an underground theme along with Power Miners. It fits as a space theme too, and it seems a waste for a theme with only two groups, but oh well.

LRR could have been bigger

SP and SP2 are in the same group, as is SP3.

M-Tron all the way man.

Fun fact: Back when RtB was very young and looked like LEGO (like somewhere in between 2004 and 2006) I founded and ran one of the largest clans known as "Mega-Corp" and we used the M-Tron logo. We had our own spaceship and everything. Good times man. Good times.

Looking at those links makes me almost remember a time when Lego didn't prostitute itself to anyone who wanted to by a franchise series. I remember when I was little I wanted an Ice Planet set, but they had been discontinued.

they stopped making their own themes as Star Wars brought them more chaa-ching in the register.
