RRDocs
Would Blender work for modeling and animating?I would like to make a new vehicle or creature.
TheDoctor
Modeling yes (you need to export it with lithunwrap though). Animating no, unless blender can export to LWS 5.6 (which it can't).

McJobless
Any other programs?Ones for animating and modeling. If you can aquire 3DS Max, you can model in that, and then export to .obj and open and save it in Lightwave.

RRDocs
What about anim8or?That's another program i've heard about.Would it possibly work for LRR?
Cirevam
You can open LWOs in anim8or, but they don't display correctly. Lair tried it once, unless it was some other program and I'm not remembering things right again. So far we know of three modeling programs and one animating program that can work with LRR. If you look in the topic that Doctor linked, you'll be able to see which ones.

RRDocs
What is LithUnwrap?Would that work?
apemax
LithUnwrap is a program that actually is mainly used for texturing 3D models but it can export LWO files correctly and import most 3D file types. I use it with gmax and blender so i can make models for LRR.
RRDocs
Can gmax animate and export LWS?
Cirevam
Since you didn't read what I told you to read, I'll tell you that Lightwave is the only thing that can export LRR-compatible animations. You cannot mod animations for LRR without it.
McJobless
Can gmax animate and export LWS? No...I own both 3DS Max and Gmax, and even if 3DSMax was able to export to LWS, Gmax wouldn't because they use different architecture and Gmax has less plugins. McJobless
EDIT: nvm, wrong topic... @RRDocs, relax. You'll acquire said tools some day. For now, you should ask around to see if anyone is free enough to do some converting for you.
