A Random Minecraft Server - And Maybe More...

Ok... you may or may not have seen the blog post, but I have started a Minecraft server called, uncreatively, "A Random Minecraft Server".

So far there has only been four players and the server has been up for three days at the time of this post (not including random stuff happening like an entirely random power failure that caused the computer the server is on to reboot), but the map has seen a lot of changes over those three days. A few towns have sprung up, the Nether has been colonized (and become more like an aether, at least until you step out of the glass dome), and a rail system has been built (although the Cows use it more than people).

It was a joke, but not necessarily a nice one. I was then shortly afterwards teleported to the Nether portal so I could join the party going on, and then was made a op like everyone else on the server was already.

Honestly, I didn't find it funny either. I had my hand over the hilt of my banhammer in case it started to go to far.

By the way, the diner in the nether turned into ground zero do to someone detonating about 20 blocks of TNT. Most the damage to surrounding buildings was repaired (I fixed your house, CTXXTC), but ground zero still remains.

Speaking of TNT, after making a large cavern for a redstone lab with TheDoctor and Sonic322, I blasted out an area in Iron Gate city for the addition of the foundations of several buildings and a subway station complete with a (WIP) Birchwood Press newsstand (the subway station is complete, but the foundations are still under construction, so I hope you don't mind the mess). In addition, I used TNT to create an impact crater or quarry (your choice CTXXTC) in a location in the foothills outside Iron Gate.

If he's admin, and you placed the TNT, then it's within his rights to do what he feels like, regardless of whether it exploded or not. Shame on you Storm...where did your ass-raping side disappear to?

There shouldn't have been that much TNT in a built-up area in the first place.

Unlike most admins, I do allow TNT, but only for constructive uses like blasting out caverns and digging foundations in open spaces. If it damages a building collaterally then be more careful where you place it next time, but placing it inside a building is an obvious sign of destructive intent. I don't want to see another building get leveled like that again.

This server for example lets you be an Op and people use it and stuff but It doesn't have Bukkit or any of the plugins.

RRU-stuff on the other hand has Bukkit and plugins yet the Ops and the rest of the players never seem to be on, there are far to many rules, and you can never get a strait answer about things going on on the server.

For 1.8, I have something special planned. Suffice to say there won't just be one map, and I have been experimenting with some seeds.

As for Bukkit, I've already upgraded to it, but I feel a bit hesitant to install Permissions, which is required by several mods. Worldedit will be added, however, and likely WolfPound, Jobs and Iconomy (since I mainly OP people for easier access to resources, this will make it no longer necessary to add OPs for that reason).

On another note, I was able to use Bukkit to acquire the seed for the map, both the Overworld and the Nether. The level seed is a basic ten-digit negative number, -1993439786

There were a few plugins I picked out for RRU-stuff that Anon picked a few of them. I will try to find the list of suggestons for you along with a few others. All the ones I picked out will be the latest version of the plugin. I would really like to stay an Op if you don't mind. I can keep the server under control when you are gone.

I like the idea of a courthouse. I can build it based off of a building design I made on another map.
