    • Yes - but shut down one of the other servers

    • No - You'll run out of RAM (I'm currently using 3.64 out of 8 GB at idle + servers)
    • No - you'll use up too much bandwidth (I have 25 Mbps Downstream and 3 Mbps Upstream)

Ah, so there is a server release.

Well, if he updated to it, there may be problems with the map when trying to downgrade back to 1.7.3.

It's good practice to back up your entire server before changing stuff - never know what can go wrong.

As I've said before the Server is Bukkit (doesn't anyone listen to me?) and there hasn't been a 1.8 Bukkit release. I'm waiting for that.

I guess I should start up the server. I don't know how reliable it's going to be at the moment, however, Microsoft has recently released a huge string of updates for Windows 7.

Never mind.

However, if you are using the 1.8 client (like me), you will not be able to connect.

Are we going to do the court or not? And I can perfectly understand waiting for the Bukkit update, but can we at least do the court without it?

Shut up and wait your turn. 40KEndraider can't get on the server because he is using 1.8 so we have to wait for the Bukkit update anyways.

I just installed the CraftBukkit 1.8.1 patch. The server should be up asap.

On another note, I read the release notes for Minecraft 1.8. Why did they say they Removed Herobrine AGAIN? I thought they removed him in 1.7.

EDIT: The newest update was downloaded, but it's corrupt... Why do I even bother with other people's software...

Reverted back to the patch...

Anyone up for writing a new server program?

EDIT2: Doors are glitchy at the moment.

It is a running joke Notch does when he releases an update.

And before I forget to mention it again:

Having trouble with Permissions 40KEndraider? Well take a look at these videos:

If you want help on some other plugin tutorials he has then here is his YouTube account: WoopaGaming (And yes he does have a tutorial for Multiverse if you are confused about that.)

List of plugins that you should check out and install. (All the most current versions of them.)

Primary plugins you should get:

[iNACTIVE][ADMN/DEV] Permissions 3.1.6 - The Plugin of Tomorrow [935]

[EDIT/SEC/ADMN] WorldEdit [4.6] World editing/de-griefing [1000]

[sEC] WorldGuard [5.2] Block fire, ice/melt, MUSHROOMS! Advanced+fast area protect! Blacklist [1000]

[GEN/TP/ADMN] CommandBook 1.5.2 - Essential and useful commands (/item, etc.) [1000]

[MECH] CraftBook [3.0-dev] - Redstone bridges, gates, minecarts, ICs, more [1000]

[TP] MultiHome v0.9.7 - Multiple personal named home locations [1000]

[ADMN/MISC] God Powers - Harness the power of the Minecraft Gods [1060]

Secondary plugins you might want to take a look at:

[FUN/TP/MECH] Runecraft v2.8.1 - Magic effects using runes [1060]

[DEV] AttributeProviders - A reverse bridge for providing attributes to plugins [953]

[MISC] CommandHelper [3.1.2] - Repeat commands! Aliases! Advanced command scripting! [1000]

You should really get on top of these man. Permission is no longer being update ever and that video is how to install the final version of permissions. Come one man.

And if you are keeping me as an Op or second in command then you might as well put me in the Admins group.

My main issue is if I have to edit those CFGs to have access to OP commands, I may break something. I've never seen anything like them before, despite my experience with C++ and Java. They do seem close to Java but there are some differences.

What CFGs? All I see are JAR and YML files.

I use CFG to refer to the YMLs. They seem to do the same thing as a CFG anyway.

Not a mac user (you should already know I hate Apple). Windows 7 and Ubuntu here.

It opens with notepad, btw, but I don't recognize the syntax of the script.

I wasn't telling you to use a Mac. I was just telling you about the programs they listed there.

Ugh, I'll save the plugins for later. The server keeps nagging me to update to the newest build, yet the last time I downloaded that the .jar was corrupt.

I'm still interested in writing a better server program that won't glitch out so much.

Really... You are not downloading it because it got corrupted on its way from the internet to your computer the last time?

That's normally when someone tries again because there probably won't be an error this time.

I would normally, but my experience tells me things won't be different. You see, the same thing happened with several Garry's Mod addons I downloaded via SVN. I'll give it another go, but if the same thing happens I'll have to revert to the 1.8.1 patch again.

Edit: Well, that's obviously not what my experience with these kinds of things tells me. The update works. Server is back online (hopefully).

Edit2: Nope, no such luck - I keep getting bad packet errors.

Edit3: I looked it up, the current version of the server isn't compatible with 1.8, even though the patch for the old version is.

Edit4: Did more research. Turns out the server is unfortunately down for good if I don't revert. This is more annoying than updating Garry's Mod addons, not to mention my computer seems to overheat when running the server program.

Are you running the patch every time? Because if you are running the outdated version after using the patch then no wonder it isn't working.

No actually, just whenever I revert to the older .jar. I'm having trouble with the updated version, not the patch.

Whenever I update, I run into issues with the new .jar archive. To revert, I reinstall the patched .jar using the installer I found on the craftbukkit forum.

The patch is extremely glitchy in-game (you actually have to hit a door to get it to act like a door), but with the update I can't even connect with the 1.8 client due to the seemingly common packet 254 error.

Unfortunately everyone else (maybe they're still using 1.7.3 and haven't gotten the message that I found a way to get the server to work with 1.8) times out while the 1.8.1 patch (build 1153) .jar archive is installed, but I can't connect with the updated (build 1063 - why is this lower?) .jar archive.

On another note, why is there an underwater door at the courthouse? I didn't put it there and it seems to lead straight into the courthouse cell. I'd think it would be pretty easy to escape that way.

You might want to check those builds out on here: http://ci.bukkit.org/

1153 was a failed build and 1063 was a successful build.

If 1153 failed because of a compiler error, then it wouldn't have compiled, thus wouldn't even exist as a .jar archive. I'll try 1163, and if it tells me to update first try I'll just ignore it as the system is detecting the more recent build as an outdated version rather than a newer one.

Btw the "update" is build 1060, not 1063 like I said before. My bad on that one.

Edit: Just downloaded 1163 and booted the server. The bukkit team deserves a facepalm as it detected the most recent stable build is considered "outdated" despite it being newer.

Edit2: Why is it raining inside my house?

Glitches.

That was in jest, didn't need to answer that...

Still trying to find a time for the trial, btw. This may end up taking longer than most US cases...
