    • No - you'll use up too much bandwidth (I have 25 Mbps Downstream and 3 Mbps Upstream)

40k, was there anyone else on the sever, and Sod, are you sure your account was not hijacked? By a sibling, mayhaps?

Only ADrunkenMonkey and MSSSSM.

There's not much we can do about it at this point, however. Just rebuild and increase server security.

40K remember the server was listed on 4chan

WHAT!?

*chair falls over and I faceplant into the table behind me*

WHO DID WHAT NOW!? D:

Seriously. Why would you do that?

I have a question.

This

Is it for everyone?

I've no clue where that came from. Doc probably built it or maybe one of the other OPs. Something like that would be impossible without WorldEdit commands.

I never did it. Maybe Shark might have PM'd it to a friend who logged in before making a thread there (I don't use 4Chan).

Still, as long as things stay under control I like the publicity my server is getting.

Yes, I made that. It's rather easy. I wanted to make it discrete but then I said screw and made it like that. Also, if you haven't noticed, there's a lever behind the desk at the jail. I can't seem to get on to the server though. It keeps taking to long to log in, thus disconnecting me. If "publicity" is becoming a problem, just run the server on a different port and only tell those who you would like on.

What is the server number again?

I have the old one but I don't think it works.

I would assume it is the same, I connect via my computer's external IP so if it changed I would know.

Yeah. I'm running CraftBukkit build 1189 for Minecraft 1.8.1. You will need to update to 1.8 to access the server.

Which reminds me... 1.9 has been "leaked" recently. Only a few more updates and Minecraft will be in release candidate form.

First MUGEN, then Trackmania and now Minecraft. I've seen so many games develop right in front of me it doesn't even surprise me anymore.

The IP address hasn't changed (it's still 75.136.114.99:25565), and I use that address to connect. The server manager will say that there is a connection error no matter what. It does it for me locally. You can still connect despite the error.

Perhaps you should reset the server to see if you can fix that.

Or keep th map, player files, plugin files, and any other files you might need and then get a new 1.8 Bukkit.

It does it anyway. It's only an issue with the server list, so I guess it's because the server is in offline mode so that CTX and some of the other cracked client members can connect.

GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE! (Yes, I quoted Prof. Farnsworth. Deal.)

I've fixed my Minecraft lagging problem (enough :P )! I'll be on the server more often! In fact... I'm on it RIGHT NOW. Come join me... IF YOU DARE!

Explain this. Don't tell me I've forgotten the port because you don't actually need to put the port if the server is running on port 25565.

It is apparently set up so people with a cracked game can play the server.

I am guessing you didn't click on it to test it because you can still play it just fine.

Unfortunately due to a power outage the server went down during a save. I will try to load the map off of the world-old.dat file but I can't make any promises. The work on the server may have been lost.

EDIT: Unfortunately that file is corrupted to, and knowing how scatterbrained I am I forgot to back everything up.

EDIT2: I found a really old backup (pre-Empire City). We will have to rebuild from that point.

EDIT3: It didn't like that one either, but at least it loaded the map.

EDIT4: The backup is more recent than I thought. I checked it out, and the file is post-griefer and pre-stonehold

Sorry to double post, but the server has been temporarily shut down due to scheduled maintenance unrelated to a particular server but related to the server machine itself. The map will be backed up.

Note - This applies to all servers currently running on this machine: Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, File Transfer Protocol. The downtime will last until 5:00 to 5:30 PM EST, possibly 6:00 at the latest.

We are sorry for any inconveniences.

EDIT: The server is back online with an increased max player number

Are we EVER going to do the court? You guys said we would do it when 1.8 releases for bukkit! :(

There has been a lot of stuff to do.

I don't think we should have the court anymore.

I mean what did he do wrong again?

I guess we can say that the statute of limitations ran out.

On another note, I've noticed that whenever someone with client-side mobility mods (a third party flight mod, a speed mod, etc) logs on the server gives me a "can't keep up" warning. I'm sure that's normal since the server wasn't originally intended to process data packets from modded clients.

Edit: Pardoned.

On a third note we should keep the courthouse so that if we catch the griefer or another one comes by we can deal with him properly.

BLAHABLAH IM NOT LISTENING ALALALALA.

Ehem. To clarify, "modded clients" don't send "different packets". They send the same packets. Think of it this way. Say I exist in minecraft. If i'm walking along somewhere, I need to report my position to the server. Every so offten, i'll send my current position to the server. If I were to have a speed or flying mod, the only thing that changes is the position it sends to the server. The way the server would stop flying/speed hacks is to compare the positions together. If a player is further or higher than they should be, the server reports to the client where they should be, and the client updates with this information. That, or it kicks you for flying.

The "can't keep up" message just means that the server can't keep up with its 20fps default speed. This also means 20 ticks/sec. It usually spits that out when its under a high load. Movement mods wouldn't cause that message. Maybe the "this person moved wrongly" message, but not the other one.
