Mario Kart Wii Is So Skill Based!

OK, let's pick on you.

I despise everything they do, usually for no good reason.
Disliking something for no good reason = Extreme fail.

That was a joke, comrade. Sarcasim obviously doesn't work on the internet. I hate their guts because of their absence of anything remotely fun.

Point of the matter is this: Mario Kart and all these stupid racing games made based around some comic character are rubbish. YES, maybe in a family setting they do quite well as an entertainment package, but there is nothing satisfying about driving around as a stereotypical Italian while getting hit with red turtle shells.
You have to like their characters to like their games, and I so happen to like their characters so I like their games.

I didn't like the characters of the Need For Speed series, but I loved that game.

Hell, I even hated numerous characters from the CoD series, but I still loved that game.

And now, let's pick on you.

However most of whatever Nintendo does (especially most of the first party stuff - Game Freak, Intelligent Systems, HAL Labs and Ape inc. are actually decent developers who just got caught in the mess) in my opinion is absolute garbage designed to mainly increase Nintendo's consumer base rather than solidify it, thus the overuse of gimmicks and lack of quality.

I agree right here. They might understand their target (niche) audience well, but that's cutting out the large proportion of the rest of the gaming public. I read somewhere the average gamer is 34...what kind of 34 year old is going to play these overly colourful kiddie games (unless they have a family)?

Motion control doesn't work in the way most companies implement it. Even the Razor Hydra and Microsoft XBOX 360 Kinect have their flaws.

Example: Tom Clancy's newest game. It's meant to be 100% Kinect compatible, but I'm putting my money on it being buggy and unfunny to play.

Turning a console system into a home entertainment system was probably the worst decision I've seen companies make quality-wise. It started with the PS2, which I thought would hopefully be as far as it would go, but then came the 6th generation systems. Microsoft kinda dug their own grave in a way, since their biggest product is still Windows and the XBOX 360 indirectly competes with it.

Hold on. I actually think the incorporation of other features into a gaming console improves it's convince and worth in some twisted way. What's more, the Xbox 360 lacks the customisation and internet abilities to even start competing against their line of OS products.

Me cause I love cartoony styles. I hate practically all (except one that is cartoony, and has no gore) fps-es that involves killing.

For some reason I just can't seem to beat that over-difficult final extra level on Super Mario Galaxy 2 after 50 tries (called The Perfect Run).

Wow, talk about closed-minded. You automaticly assume that every person is like you and only cares about mindless killing and shooting people so they bleed and zombies and all your FPS s***. You know what, not everyone is the same as you. To your quesrion: a lot of 34 year-olds, because some of them prefer a soft colorful game to stupid mindless violence.

Oh, what's that? Say I'm being unfair by claiming FPS is stupid? Well hey, that sure didn't stop you from stating your opinion as fact. You say "I don't like the stuff Nintendo does." Ok, fine. Not everyone likes Nintendo. But "I hate Nintendo, therefore it must be a fact that they're terrible!" No. Your opinion is your opinion, but stop acting like anyone who doesn't agree with you is a moron.

I've had enough people say this to me in the past, and I pass it to you: learn the difference between a fact and an opinion. Just because you feel a certain way, stop assuming everyone else has to too. That is the sign of a closed-minded imbecile.

Also, kiddie game? Last I saw it was rated E for Everyone.

Wait, what are you doing playing Rock Raiders? It's rated E, so it's a kiddie game! Someone as old as yourself must NEVER be seen with a child's game, lest... SOMETHING bad HAPPENED! :0

For some reason I just can't seem to beat that over-difficult final extra level on Super Mario Galaxy 2 after 50 tries (called The Perfect Run).

...Pfffft.

How about you STFU right now. I don't think that. Stop trying to assume everything. If you think FPS is stupid, so be it, but don't call me out for being an FPS lover.

And I never said it was a fact they must be terrible because I hate them. Once again, you assume something. I hate them because they are just about as bad as EA in the "oh-hey lets make a whole bunch of crap sellout characters and see how long we can milk the cash out of them from the huddle masses of idiots!" category. It's the same reason I reserve some hatred about Microsoft for Halo.

I'm not closed-minded. If I was, I tell everyone to bear a cross or get the f*** off the internet. You're so deluded you're practically clouding your own judgement.

f*** off. There's a difference, numb-nuts. LEGO trys to sell to everyone. Nintendo specialises in kid products.

What kind of a stupid question is this? "Oh, if you don't know any IRL, I must be right, hahaha!" Thanks for proving my point on your closed-mindedness.

If you think FPS is stupid, so be it, but don't call me out for being an FPS lover.

And yet you were just calling people out for being platformer lovers.

And I never said it was a fact they must be terrible because I hate them. Once again, you assume something.

^stated like a fact, sir.

I hate them because they are just about as bad as EA in the "oh-hey lets make a whole bunch of crap sellout characters and see how long we can milk the cash out of them from the huddle masses of idiots!" category.

Nothing to say here because in some ways I agree with you.

I'm not closed-minded. If I was, I tell everyone to bear a cross or get the f*** off the internet. You're so deluded you're practically clouding your own judgement.

By reminding you that an opinion is not a fact, I'm clouded? LOL!

im an idiot!. There's a difference, im an idiot!. LEGO trys to sell to everyone. Nintendo specialises in kid products.

That doesn't make it a "kiddie game" by default. In some ways it might, but when it's aimed at younger kids, that doesn't mean older ones can't-

Wait, I think we're coming at it with different understandings of the meaning of that phrase. Nevermind I see what you're trying to say but misunderstood blar.

Once again, STFU. I want statistical data which provides fact, otherwise your theory falls to pieces.

And yet you were just calling people out for being platformer lovers.

They say ignorance is bliss. You're exemplifying this pretty well.

Point of the matter is this: Mario Kart and all these stupid racing games made based around some comic character are rubbish.

I'll give you one here. It doesn't help when I get in a rage and I start listing these irrelevant quotes; but still, my opinion is set in stone, and I will stand by it till the day I die.

Nothing to say here because in some ways I agree with you.

I'm hoping that we can all agree at least on Microsoft and EA selling out.

By reminding you that an opinion is not a fact, I'm clouded? LOL!

Bah, bad card drawn.

Nevermind I see what you're trying to say but misunderstood blar.

Erm, well then. I'll just calm down now.

Anyways, my official rebuttal is this; when I made the previous post, I was very pissed due to external factors. I'm sorry for my hate dump.

Now, I'm going to leave this topic. Do feel free to stay on topic.

Everytime someone on this forum calls something kidish that is more or less equivalent to LEGOs level, I usually bring up LEGOs (and their games) to them.

For some reason I just can't seem to beat that over-difficult final extra level on Super Mario Galaxy 2 after 50 tries (called The Perfect Run).

I think I tried to hard, sometimes when I try something extensively without taking a break, my skills get worse.

@Extreme, stop telling people to shut up all the time, that's like the 10th time this week I've heard you tell someone on this forum to. Have you ever thought your the one who needs to shut it?

Nintendo specialises in kid products.
No.. just no.

To keep this post related to MK, here's a song about the blue shell (parody of SonicSATAM intro song).

Wow! I state that there are tons of people not like you (and you can just look ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD to find this) and you want "statistical evidence." LOL

My theory does not fall to pieces, because I DON'T HAVE A THEORY. I AM, however, stating a fact, that a lot of people do like different things than you do. But of course, you CAN'T be wrong! In fact, anything you dislike, if anyone else likes it...well, they can't, because without statistics you CAN'T BE WRONG, no sir!

On topic, I only have MKWii, so I can't say anything about it getting more cheaty. It does cheat though.

If I may interject for a moment please.

This is for everyone to read. It is not directed at anyone in particular.

There are lots of opinions about things in the world and when someone states their opinion about something then some people will understand that it is an opinion and others will look at it and think they are claiming it to be a fact by the way it is written. The point is unless it is expressly stated to be a fact or it is common knowledge then it is safe to assume that it is a persons opinion. When ever you claim that someone is stating there opinion as a fact then you should think before you do because if you are wrong then you could get into a flame war. It is very hypocritical to yell at someone because you thing they are trying to state their opinion as fact and then claim that the majority of people in real life and on the internet think differently than them because when you think about it then that is your own opinion on an opinion. (Very meta right there) If you do claim that someones fact-pinion as I am calling it is wrong then you should at the very least be able to back it up on your own instead of getting mad and trying to get around the question by telling them that they can just Google up a million cases where what they stated is wrong. I agree that Google makes for a great tool but when you tell someone to go use it without even trying to give any proof then that just makes you look like a tool.

Don't worry, I'm definitely not. Well, not until I beat the original level first that is. But I have to play through the game again first because I deleted my file some time ago.

I've dodged a blue shell before on Double Dash. End of story.

HOW?

A very well timed combination of a charged powerslide boost and the hills at the end of the DK barrel cannon course, or something like that.

It doesn't even have to be on DK mountain. With good enough timing, you can do it on any track. Same thing with Mario Kart DS.

Mario Kart Wii, on the other hand, requires a mushroom due to the new drift mechanics.

I think MK7's is much easier to dodge due to it just being an improved version of MK64's blue shell, but I haven't tried since I don't own it or a 3DS. I probably won't get MK7 anyway - I played it once and the kart handling is even more unresponsive than Trackmania2 Canyon, even with the more maneuverable kart combos, and if I'm stuck in a kart I'd like to see snaking return to the game - this new drift system was solely implemented to remove an advantage that experienced players had. I thought experienced players are supposed to have an advantage over new players? They're called experienced players for a reason...

Hey guys, look what I put into MKW. See if you can recognize this place with a texture mess (except Lair cause he knows already), I'm sure there is a way to fix the texture mess.. though I haven't figured it out yet. You should know this if you've played the game, because it is in a way related to this forum.

Sweet. When you develop a fully working track, let Mr.Bean35000VR know.

There is one problem, it doesn't work on the actual Wii.. maybe it is to complex or something. (I tested it on the Dolphin emulator and was finally able to try it on my Wii after getting the game back from a friend who was borrowing it.)

I hate how online has turned into Funky/Daisy Bike Wii. >_> (because of some special little stat they have on a certain bike which you will only notice the difference in time trials.

Soo, does anyone use CTWW (Custom Track World Wide.) Or am I the only one here who mods MKW?

If LEGO Racers 1 & 2 ever get this much custom tracks made for it. I will be amazed.

This is a montage of all the new custom track in the next CTGP.. not that anyone here cares or plays MKW (if anyone does though, just hit me up. I'll be willing to race any of you anyday).
